In the Report on the17th Congress of the Communist Party of China,"promoting the popularization of Marxism in contemporary China" is proposed as the great historical task of building socialism with Chinese characteristics, upholding and developing Marxism, and promoting the development of socialism in the world. Vigorous research and intensive study on the popularization of Marxism in contemporary China, is of great political and strategic significance for keeping the eternal glory of the basic principles of Marxism, for unifying people's thought of all nationalities, for enhancing political identity, for establishing common socialist ideals, for consolidating and strengthening the ruling party's leadership of the Communist Party of China in the new historical period, and for making firm confidence with all people to the socialist road with Chinese characteristics under the leadership of the Communist Party of China.In this paper, many research methods are mainly used, such as dialectical materialism and historical materialism, literature and document, combination of theory and practice, the unity of history and logic, analyzing and discussing issues in contemporary China on Marxism popularization. In accordance with a general study series of ideas as "what","why,""could", and "how can", the issues of popularization of Marxism in contemporary China is rather thoroughly studied and interpreted.Chapter Ⅰ--Thinking on the premise of the popularization of Marxism in contemporary China.Around the presentation background, basis and purpose of popularization of Marxism in contemporary China, in this chapter it states rational interpretation of popularization of Marxism in contemporary China; within three aspects as "sinicization, updating with the era, and popularity" and their relationship, it exposes comprehensively "what is popularization of Marxism in contemporary China" focusing on the meaning of Marxism in contemporary China and popularization of Marxism in (?)ontemporary China. It points out that "Marxism in contemporary China is the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics. In Chapter Ⅲ it is stated mainly in four parts, that Marxism being popular in contemporary China is the basic premise and foundation of reality with its values; the Chinese Communist Party's leadership is the popular organizational assurance; the established socialist system is the systematic popular assurance; the people's democratic dictatorship is the political popular assurance, describing the reality and possibility for the popularization of Marxism in contemporary China. As to the realization route, it points out six different ways including theory text, organizational means, media means, the actual way by meeting the needs of the people's interests, personnel development approach, and cultural construction.In the conclusion section, it mainly emphasizes on that the popularization of Marxism in contemporary China is the most important route for consolidating leadership in ideology, as well as enriching and developing Marxism in China and carrying on the socialist cause with Chinese characteristics. It points out that innovation is good for public choice through learning experience and lessons from historical practice of Marxism and combining with our ongoing practice of building socialism with Chinese characteristics on the bases of profound recognition about modern features. Furthermore, it points out that the popularization of Marxism in contemporary China should rely on the reality of China, and provide people Marxism with all kinds of specific necessities over different fields, industries, organizations, and persons, blending in their thought, transforming into their action, reflecting with the results. Then it could really promote Marxism sinicization, updating with the era, and popularity in China and promote the vigorous development of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
