When the Chinese people were resisting foreign aggression and fighting bloody battles to strengthen the country, and when China gradually walked out of the Middle Ages and was heading for modern society, Mao Tse - tung's talents were revealed in his early years, which marked the firmest and most stable step of this great man in his early years. After the great man's passing away, researchers in academic circles studied his early thoughts deeply and thoroughly, however, they lacked the research on his early ideology of nationality transformation systematically and thoroughly. In fact, saving the nation and realizing the national independence freedom people' s prosperity and happiness through transforming nationality was the unchanged theme of Mao Tse -tung's ideology in his early years, which has far - reaching influence on the later Chinese society. Moreover, probing the logical development, main contents and characteristics of Mao Tse - rung's ideology of nationality transformation in his early years is helpful for us to come closer to the profound Mao Tse - tung and comprehend theturbulent ages, and it also bears important realistic significance in contemporary construction of socialist spiritual civilization.Through comprehensively and systematically studying Mao Tse - tung' s ideology of nationality transformation in his early years (from the autumn in 1910 to early 1921) , this dissertation attempts to sketch Mao Tse - rung's portrait as a young explorer.Mao Tse - tung' s ideology of nationality transformation in his early years had gone through three developmental stages : "returning to the ancients for liberation"; "transforming nationality "in the fusion of eastern culture and western culture; "bringing up assiduous and ambitious people through class struggle".From the autumn in 1910 to 1916, with Mao Tse - tung' s realization of the transformation from a traditional citizen to a modem citizen, his ideology of nationality transformation germinated . Mao Tse - tung was born in a peasant family in unenlightened Shaoshan, thus the culture, psychology and behavioral pattern of his family and owed him with the nature of traditional citizen when he lived in Shaoshan. But because of the natural consciousness of rebelling, the great change in the social institution of politics and economy after the Revolution of 1911, the influence of the firstideological trend of nationality transformation in modem China, Mao Toe - tung him-3elf broke away from, the traditional bounds and sought for earliest thoughts of nationality transformation. Starting with nationality criticism, Mao Tse - tung expected ideal citizens and pondered over the effective means of nationality transformation. During this period, because of the deep - rooted accumulation of traditional culture, his exploration of the breakthrough of nationality was traditionally restricted. Moreover, influenced by Liang Qichao, Yong Changji, etc, Mao Tse - tung' s ideology of nationality transformation mainly embodied nationalism and failed to touch individualism, which is the modern nature of nationality transformation with the Confucian ideas of saving the nation by men of virtue as the main content not only could not transform the inherence weakening of the citizens' individual consciousness, but also could not save the nation. Because this means was impractical, it was necessary to find another way out. From 1916 to August in 1918, with the fast development of Chinese capitalist e-conomy, the breaking out of the New Culture Movement, and Yuan Shikai's policies of preventing the people from knowing the truth, the Chinese people became more ignorant. And with the deeper understanding both of the eastern culture and the western culture, Mao Tse ~ tung had to seek for other origins in his early years. His ideology experienced the development from idealism to dualism, from the sole nation - salvation to the humanity returning , from the rigid adherence to tradition to the fusion of the eastern culture and the western culture, and Mao Tse - tung chose...
