Chapter 1 Development of E-commerce in International Businessâ… . The presentation of EDI has paved the way for the electronization of international business which means the fully use of E-Commerce in international business.However, there are still a few problems existing on the developing process of EDI: great expensive in appliances and maintenance, complicated in technical standard, unsuitable for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME), duplicated for the exchanging standard.â…¡.Having broken through the limitation of time and space, internet is suited for importation and exportation. Business through internet has some new characteristics like cutting down mistakes made by time delay and hand-writing, simplifying trade links in the chain of international business, raising efficiency, enlarging market capacity and bring us large social and economic benefit. Internet is promoting the e-commerce in international business. Chapter 2 Expression of E-Commerce in International Businessâ… .E-Commerce means the business activities done on internet. Its content at the core is commerce, computer handling and network. Computer is a tool, network is a platform and businiss is the substance and purpose.â…¡.E-commerce is not being divided into internal and external trade, domestic and international business because all the definitions have made E-commerce above computer network and, one of the features of network is to overcome the block of time and space. For this, E-commerce is more suitable for international business.â…¢.The applied features of E-commerce are business, service, integration, expansible, security and harmonization.â…£. Abstractly, the value of E-commerce is that it makes information service more neutral, lets information more transparent, overcomes the geological boundary, saves cost and can greatly integrate business process and specifically speed up transaction. E-commerce can provide the enterprises with advertisement striding across time and space; provide enterprises with feedback of customer's information and customer's tracing service; strengthen the credit of enterprises; help enterprises to have more new customers; maintain the relationship between enterprises and sales people; come into contact with the medium to inspect the services and products on the market provided by the enterprises; help enterprises to make market divisions; help enterprises to keep away from the restriction of economic scope on the modern fast changing market and overcome difficulties when entering into the international market.V.Influence of E-commerce on international businessThe emergence of E-commerce will bring the international business the following influences:1. E-commerce will lead to changes of business measurement in international business. 2. E-commerce promotes the operational mainstay of traditional international business to change and produce a new kind of enterprises like "virtual enterprises".3. E-commerce causes great reform on operational and managing method in international business. 4. E-commerce makes the technical, security and legal cost in traditional business to have new changes.5. E-commerce connects the entire world into an universal "market" by the link of information.6. E-commerce influences transaction benefit and distribution.7. E-commerce influences international productive field.8. E-commerce increases credit risks, quality risks and technical risks on international business.VI. Generally speaking, E-commerce will fully promote free trade policy, but protectionism will tend to use technical and environmental protective means which is probably more harmful to the developing countries.VII.
