Research On The Development Strategies And Mechanism Of Suburb Urbanization

Based on the background of urbanization and unity of urban and rural area, this paper uses the principles and tools of Urban Economics, Industrial Economics, Development Economics, New institutional Economics and Game theory, to discuss the basic principles and methods of theoretical and practical issues about the urbanization for suburb, Focusing on the factors, dynamical mechanism, strategies and models of development, the function of government, which affect the suburb urbanization. To use the methods of the theoretical analysis and empirical analysis, this paper deals with the highlights of the suburb urbanization.This paper consists of four parts:The first part deals with basic issues of city, urbanization and suburb urbanization. After the introduction of the study progress being made on city and urbanization, the paper gives the connotation and the characteristics of suburb urbanization, and traverses the factors that have the vital affection to suburb urbanization.The second part deals with the relationship between agglomerative effect and suburb urbanization. On the basis of the study on the connotation, classifications, causes of formation and functions of suburb urbanization, by analyzing economy and diseconomy of agglomeration, the paper emphasizes the research on the impacts that the agglomerative effect makes to the behavior and location choices of enterprises and residents, which lead to theconclusion that the agglomerative effect is the main dynamical mechanism of suburb urbanization.The function of government in the progress of suburb urbanization is studied in the third part of the paper. After explaining the importance of government in the progress of suburb urbanization by reviewing the history of urbanization under the two types of economic system, the paper analyzes and compares the two types of suburb urbanization from viewpoint of new institutional economics, and by using the analyzing tool of game theory, studies the games among the governments and the games between the government and enterprises in the progress.The fourth part is about the development strategies, models and strategic measures of suburb urbanization. By reviewing the basic concepts of strategy, the paper gives the connotation, the theoretical frame and the guideline of development strategy for suburb urbanization. On the basis of the above strategic analysis, the paper further researches the development models of suburb urbanization of our country, and gives the suggestion of some vital measures to promote the progress of suburb urbanization.
