Under the WTO agricultural agreement, agricultural trade was brought out rule of multilateral trade system, and become the focus of trade freedom. Today china is pushed by a more opening market, How to improve international competitiveness of china' agricultural products become more and more important. It will be a great barrier for a large developing country toward modernization during the new century if it isn't solved properly. So it has a special significance for economic study and policy advisory.Under the new position, improving agricultural products` international competitiveness must basis of implanting comparative advantage, otherwise not only competitiveness of agriculture's improvement will at the cost of the losses of other industries, but also this goal unable to be realized because of multilateral trade negotiation further restricting support measurements.On the basis of theory of comparative advantage, the competitiveness` changes of agricultural products in last 20 years in China have been analyzed by using the methods of normative economics and positive economics. Then this search anatomies competitiveness changing trend and analyzes factors of influencing competitiveness of agricultural products. The main points of this paper are put forward as followings: 1.a paradox phenomenon of two theories of comparative advantage and competitive advantage. 2. Factors of influencing competitiveness of agricultural products not only include price competitiveness, but also non-price competitiveness. 3. Trade safeguards and domestic support are two different mechanisms and countermeasures of influencing competitiveness of agricultural products. 4. Macroeconomic policy must be compatibility with reform of the administration system; the latter is under greater and greater challenge. This research report is presented with the following chapters:The first chapter sets up the direction and framework of my inquiry.Chapter two identifies and evaluates the situations and trends of competitiveness of agricultural products. Firstly, I explain that the current state and trend of agricultural trade, and practical analysis of competitiveness of agricultural products. Secondly, I provide an analysis of the causes for paradox phenomenon of two theories of comparative advantage and competitive advantage. Chapter Three I explore the effects production cost on competitiveness of agricultural products. First of all, I review the current state and trend of production cost of agricultural products; point out that the causes for loss competitiveness of soil--intensity agricultural products. Second, I emphasize the relative effectiveness of policy options for adjusting agricultural production through carrying out law of comparative advantage. In Chapter Four I explore the effects active circulation cost on competitiveness of agricultural products. After compare with developed countries, the conclusion is: active circulation cost is too high in China. The background and process of circulation system reform was analyzed in this paper. And the analyze focus on the circulation cost theory and positive research of active circulation cost of agricultural products. As the reforms get deeply, autarky police provincial respectively should come to the end.Chapter five discusses the effects differentiation on competitiveness of agricultural products. Non-price competitiveness composed of differentiation is becoming more and more important in an international market competition. That is to say, heterogeneous competition relative to homogeneous competition is not only meet need of theory development, but also avoid the pitfall of price competition. I arrive at the central conclusion that, in face of trade barriers, heterogeneous competition of agriculture product must break away from its traditional role, improve the quality and upgrade industry.
