From Ancient Justice To The Modern Justice

As long as human society has existed there is justice. People have discussed justice since they had script. There are many works which are on justice directly or indirectly. Justice is important because it is the elementary factor which preserve existence of society and maintain society order. From the whole word justice is satisfied the total need. From the individual word justice is satisfied individual need. Justice contain internal tension between the whole need and the individual need. Society run in right order when just internal tension keep dynamic balance. In human history when society has developed justice not only absorb new factor and give birth to new balance but also promote society progress. Just inner core has distinction among the different history. In west history general speech there was justice which distributed duty to people in ancient society and there is justice which distribute rights to people in modern times. There are more and more works which are on justice and on the meaning of justice. I want to say that how the ancient justice walk up to the modern justice logically and rationally in my essay.Ancient Greece society is a common customs society in developed rationality. For injustice phenomena and problem in ancient Greece Plato and Aristotle both put forward their justice for their city-state purpose (city-state goodness) according to whole profit of city-state. Plato lodged his justice from transcendent standpoint in which justice is moral value criterion for his city-state. Aristotle lodged his justice from realistic standpoint who scrutinized different benefit in different classes and he thought justice is the politics rights people get according to their obligation for their city-state goodness. For both the affection of different thoughts to ancient Greece and Greece narrow geographical environment which could not baffle the rough people's inbreak into Greece Plato and Aristotle's thoughts could not form a great tradition and affect people's action and could but absorbed into middle age society.The middle age is an important period in west world history. In the middle age On the one hand the great tradition had come into being and the ancient justice had grown up ,on the other hand the ancient justice had turn on modern justice accordingly to logic. There were two important thinkers in the middle age who are St Augustione and St Tomas Aquinas. St Augustione absorbed Plato's metaphysical ideas into Christianity and formed Christian belief system for value pattern. St Tomas Aquinas absorbed Aristotle's rationality into Christianity and made Christian belief system furthermore perfect. Christian belief system manifest duality value pattern in which the integrity against the individual, divinity against humanity, goodness against badness, belief against rationality. This Christian value pattern is opening value pattern in which dual factors not only oppose but also contact each other. It not only has whole far and high ideal directivity that upgrade people's soul belief but also have the structure pattern which can absorb and plan individual realism desire. It could absorb different new factors that have grown up in history process of society and make justice get new content and thereby push society into new ladder. One evident example lie in that in middle age the profit of many interest aggregative could reasonable cognize in Christian belief pattern. The reasonable dualism belief pattern and the individual desire had accelerated west society progress from middle age into modern times, from divinity into humanity, from belief into rationality. The more progress of many interest aggregative in west middle age developed the individual status and come into being modern justice which distribute rights to equal individual.When the modern justice which is based on individual and distribute equal rights to individual had matured it developed uttermost then created negative affect.
