Land Degradation And Poverty-related Research

This text was proceeding with geographical space distribution at first; combine with GIS software drawing method to prove relativity between land degradation and poverty. Regard county as minimum unit, to analyze distribution of the poor county in land degradation-county. The analyze scale from the whole country to the western, eastern, and middle to the last 6 province in the west. Analysis results indicate land degradation and poverty have greater dependence in the west of our country.On the basis of geographical space distribution method, I choose Shaanxi Province for land degradation and poverty have great dependence, and use land degradation index data, unit area total value of agriculture, Per capita agriculture total value and peasant per capita income, etc to carry on dependence analyze. The results prove land degradation through influence land productivity and per capita agriculture total value to influence peasants per capita income. On this basis, adopt the plural linear regression method, regard peasant's per capita income as the dependent variable, Per capita agricultural land area, unit agricultural land area chemical fertilizer use amount, agriculture total value account for GDP proportion and land degradation the index data (land degradation fictitious variable, land degradation percentage and land degradation the array variable of the degree) as the independent variable. Results indicate that land degradation have most effect on per capita income of peasant of Shaanxi Province. Up to 330, we name it as" poverty of land degradation ".To analyze population proportion of income in land degradation poor-county, we estimate peasant per capita income population proportion block in (295 yuan, 625 yuan). In Shaanxi Province, there are 183,700 people shake off poverty, account for these poor county total 5. 5% of population, 68. 7% of the population below the poverty line. In the west 6 province (Shaanxi, Qinghai, Xinjiang, Ningxia, Gansu and Inner Mongol) 82 land degradation poor county have 1,365,800 people shake off poverty, Accounts for 6. 71% of the populations of these county. According to poor-county, 36 poor-county have exceed average level of poor county 1999 on average peasant per capita income, account for 17.5% of the land degradation poor-county.From probe the possibility, technology, organization, institution of curing land degradation, and research of case that prevent land degradation, this paper prove alleviate the poverty through prevent and cure land degradation in our country.Finally, this paper makes an appraise and policy recommendations to the great projects such as shift grain for forest and green project, shelter forest of three northern areas of China project, and Beijing, Tianjin sand source cure project, etc.
