Study On Industrial Organization Of Agricultural Products Processing In China

For a long time, the basic task of agriculture is to guarantee the supply of grain, to meetpeople's basic needs of food and clothing. However, the agricultural products processingindustry develops slowly, failed to form a complete industry system. With the improvement ofagricultural productivity, supply and demand of the agricultural products has changedfundamentally. How to strengthen organization of the agricultural product processing industry,to produce high quality and safe foods to meet urban and rural residents' consumption demandunder the new situation? It becomes an important way to improve the benefits andinternational competitiveness of agriculture. The agricultural products processing industry hasrealistic significance in developing agricultural industry in the countryside, which resorts toextending the agricultural industry supply chain, making agriculture break away from thefundamental position that only offers the raw materials and primary product and helping itbecome an intact industry, increasing the value of elementary agricultural products. To someextent, how the agricultural products processing industry has developed can reflects how thecivilized a country is. In the developed countries, especially in America and Europe, theprocessing industry of country's agricultural product has had already ripe basically system,which has laws to regulate trade. However, it's common that agricultural products processingindustries in China have many problems, such as small scope, poor performance, lack ofinvestment to do the research, low barriers to entry, unordered and excessive competition,relatively low industrial organization level and relevant laws have not been made yet. Sostrengthening the study of questions about agricultural products processing industry,optimizing the institutional framework of agricultural products processing industry, raising theconcentration ratio and scale level of agricultural products processing industry, achievingeffective competitions are all the important problems that need to solve at present. This paper uses industrial organization theory, game theory and option pricing theory,based on the correct definition of characteristics of the agricultural products processingindustry and understand on the history of agricultural products processing industry. It mainlystudies the economies of scale, vertical economies of scale and cluster economies, the threemajor advantages of competition of agricultural products processing industry. Then putsforward the basic theory frame and operation of the Farmer's Union of the agriculturalproducts processing industry and industry organization. At last, it comes to some conclusionsand gives some suggestions. This paper has five parts concerning about the organizationalstructure, economy of scale, vertical economies of scale, cluster economies and regulation ofagricultural products processing industries.
