The Evaluation Of Land Use Sustainability At The Level Of Farm Household And The Policy Options, A Case Study At Quzhou County

It was indicated that the research on the evaluation of effectiveness of policy on farm household, and effectiveness of behavior of farm household on land quality is beneficial for sustainable land use at regional level. In this thesis, the sustainable land use at county level, ecological problem of farm household land use, effectiveness of policy on welfare of farm household and on sustainable land use with multivariate statistical analysis and economic analysis, based on the integration of agro-ecology information and socio-economic data, including farm households' input-output data in 1995, 1998, 1999, and2000, soil data, climate data and statistic data. So that we can find the policy to solve the problem on non-economic of external of farm household land use to sustainable land use. With the kind of information, it is much more helpful for the government to make decision on the policy choice to promote the sustainable land use system.After the analysis on the agricultural land use system in Quzhou county, some conclusion reached including: (1) the pollution of under ground water, soil, and air was caused because of the use of pesticide to kill pets, the use chemical herbicide to weed, and fertilization of farm household; (2) the farms' irrigation caused the pollution and the waste of water resource under ground.Based on the data of crop planting area at village level in 1981, 1985,1995,1997, 1998 and 1999, and agro-ecology information in Quzhou County, the correlation analysis, principal component analysis, and regression analysis of the factor of Land Use Cover Change, showed that the price of agricultural production and land quality was the key factor to effect the land use cover change and the sustainable land use at regional level.The indices system of the evaluation on sustainable land use of farm household at plot level were constructed based on the input-output coefficient in 1995, 1998, 1999, and 2000 from farm household survey. The evaluation result of farm household land use at plot level present that the input of farms' Nitrogenous fertilizer and Phosphate fertilizer is more than what the plant need, which is uneconomical to the farmer and is unsustainable to the land use, while the use of Potash fertilizer and herbicide in the field was increasing in the resent years. There are lot of difference in the balance of Nitrogenous, Phosphate, and Potassium, Organic Mater balance and the input of fertilizer and herbicide among the different kind of land use type. The farmer's choice of land use type is based on their economical condition. The other key factors to effect farms' choice of land use type are price of crop production, land quality, land property, and the percent of cropping production income.
