Since the economical and industrial structure all over the world has developed, service and service trades are playing more and more important role in modern economy. Service economy has become a symbol economical structure in transformation period from industrial economy to knowledge economy. In modern society, service has turned into the central power of economical activity. The stand point of "customer central "and "creating value for customer "has become the mark of service economy period. By applying synthetically some basic theories and methods of constitutional economics, industry economics, financial engineering, management and so on, and combining closely with many countries' practice, this paper studies systematically the commercial banks' customer equity management (CEM). This paper focuses on the following three contents:Firstly, this paper introduces the character of Chinese present commercial banks, the evolution of the evolution of the theory of the west commercial banks' CEM, and the internal relation between the theory and the west financial theory. After having developed and changed for several dozens years in China's bank system, the policy finance has been separated with the commercial finance, and all kinds of financial organizations characterized by commercial banks have flourished. There are unique characters, and deep background and base in the development of Chinese commercial banks. The current bank industry of China hasn't still been developed to the stage of valid banks' CEM, and belongs to the beginning stage of the theory and practice. However, at the beginning of the 1960's the evolution of west commercial banks' CEM has gone through two stage: the former is the stage of equity management strategy in the 1950's, and the latter is the specific CEM strategy. Theory of customer central CEM caused that value maximizing is an important aim of west commercial banks' operation, which is a valid way to remain or trend to capital balance of "three character" in the new period and a necessary term of adverse process of "the entropy increasing effect" on the terms of new operation. After having been practiced for several dozens years CEM has been important management thought and theory. In the macroscopic view, there is inner relation to some extent between the theory of the whole modern west commercial banks' CEM and the west financial theory. Information economics and game theory have entered into the theory of west main stream economics, and there is the inner accord between the theory of commercial banks' CEM and credit rationing theory. Financial deepening theory, which belongs to the important content of west development economics, logically accords with commercial banks' CEM.Secondly, this paper sums up some econometric models of CEM. This paper sequentially analyses the concept model—— the Zeithmal model, and another concept model of commercial banks' customer equity introduces the two methods of calculating CEM: the method of Blattberg and Deighton, and the method of Blattberg and Getz. Using method of least squares and the theory of curve drawing, the paper analyses the characters of commercial banks' anticipated contribution curve, and gets the customer anticipated contribution econometric model in the customer's life period. At the same time, using the data of some Chinese commercial banks the paper practically analyses the models, and fulfilling the calculation of commercial banks CEM.Thirdly, facing the characters of Chinese present commercial banks and combining with China's financial system reformation and commercial banks' current situation, the paper studies conditions of China's commercial banks' CEM , and external and inner environment. In the viewpoint of external environment and inner organic structure, many aspects must be perfected to develop Chinese commercial banks' CEM.
