The forest is the main part of the land ecosystem, and it is very important material for mankind to rely on for existence and development.The forest provides two kinds of products for the society. One is a visible product, which can be changed on the market, bringing the economic profit for the owners; the other is a kind of invisible product, the ecosystem services such as self-restraint headwaters and clear atmosphere, but can't enter the market for changing. Forestry's t development meet tremendous difficulty, because it has the nature of public product and its exterior economy brings benefits for other social sections, but it can't get the reward Therefore, around the world, there are many researches on the calculation of the ecosystem performance for either the compensate of the ecosystem or the protection of the ecosystem. In the last decade, there are also much research work concerning the calculation of the ecosystem in our country.But in the past the research was limited by the technique and method .Few considered the characteristic of space of the forest ecosystem performance. Thus the calculation of the forest ecosystem performance was not scientific and accurate. Now we have entered the information ages and numerical forestry is also in the steady implement in our country. All these have built a new terrace for various researches. The geography information system (GIS) as the mainly technique prop to the numerical earth has got great development. It has been applied in many fields. It is based on the geography space database, it imitates with the Earth analytical methods, and it provides various spaces and dynamic geography information for various decisions.The paper studies the calculation and compensate of the forest ecosystem. And defines what the forest ecosystem performance is. The forest ecosystem performance is the product of forests, it is relied on the forests. But the forests have an obvious characteristic the spacial distribution, and it controls the space of the forest ecosystem performance's spacial distribution. According to specific of the forest ecosystem performance and calculation of it, the paper sets up the forest ecosystem performance space analytical theories and technique frames, after analyzing the application of GIS in other fields. The paper build specific models to calculate various forest ecosystem performances, and keep the relation with GIS analysis methods. I can get the direct chart of the distribution of the forest ecosystem performances. This method can provide both the amount and also the visible chart. These will help the decider be more clear about the distribution and can make decisions with highly level.The paper built up square distance set to depict the inside relationship of various forest ecosystem performances and the relationship between the forest resources and the forest ecosystem. And I found the way to distinct them. I get the annual ecosystem of the forest such as keeping the water and soil, restraining water, protecting fatty and defending the breeze by the method of three minimum two multiplications. And I keep the accuracy over 80%.This paper studied the main process of analyzing the forest ecosystem by quoting the Forestry Station of Jiangshangjiao as the example. And 1 get the average hectare of the forestry station's forest ecosystem is 2693.77yuan and the total amount is 42,982,600 yuan which is the 1300% of the value of production that year, and which is the 11000% of the ecosystem performance compensation from the government. This paper also analyzes the space distribute and the space area row and get the visible expression of the forest ecosystem. Then I get the ecosystem, layout of researched area from the quantity of the forest ecosystem.The construction of our country's ecosystem is a long-term mission. It will be still a problem how to calculate and compensate the forest ecosystem performance. It needs further researches. I do some researches about it based on the GIS, but it is just a try and it needs further perfection.
