The inevitable mission of contemporary ideological and political education, as a construction mode of human being and creation method of human life, is to re-comprehend and re-interpret human existence plight and its style of the age in the setting of globalization, and understand relationships between man and society, man and the world, and then take some corresponding steps. So ideological and political education should consciously shoulder the double resistances: to carry out ideological and political education with facing world; to practice ideological and political education with taking root in our native country, and then, in the resistance, compose modernistic text of contemporary Chinese ideological and political education. In short, the study of ideological and political education within the view of globalization is of great significance both theoretically and practically.The orientation of contemporary Chinese ideological and political education is to be revealed by its relation with globalization. This thesis has analyzed the dilemma of ideological and political education, and its orientation in globalization within the view of globalization. The thesis carries out its question and study by following the main thread, globalization—its challenge to ideological and political education—countermeasure of ideological and political education, theoretically and practically.The thesis starts with the concept of globalization and expounds multiple understandings of globalization in the academe to manifest the controversy of globalization between west world and China. To arrange and understand again the meaning, essence and characteristics of globalization has widened and deepened the study of globalization, which is helpful to holistic study of globalization.The thesis traces back to Marxist theory of world history process by following world historical track, and treats it as the methodology of unscrambling globalization and contemporary ideological and political education. By contrasting reality, the thesis makes multidimensional perspective of Marx's theory of world historical process, uncovering its value to contemporary ideological and political education.Then from the state of the relationships between globalization and human existence condition, the thesis discusses the multidimensional challenges of globalization to ideological and political education, and mainly explains that, in the course of globalization, ideological and political education faces severe challenges: conflict among value conceptions, weakness of state sovereignty and threat to culture security.The thesis argues that neither globalization of ideological and political education in extreme sense nor localization of ideological and political education is advisable. The former will possibly submerge all other forms of ideological and political education with the unique one, and even forms text hegemony mode and monopoly mode in ideological and political education, which is both unreasonable and illegal and violates diversified requests of developing ideological and political education from different countries. However, the latter will possibly go back to traditional manners refusing its modernistic pursuit, and even shrink back refusing or deviating from the developing path of modem civilization. In the face of globalization, ideological and political education should have the obvious characteristics of itself which include ideology and nonideological, individuality and socialization, internationalization and nationalization, and its special laws, which include homeostasis law, law of coordination and variation, law of getting rid of the stale and bringing forth the fresh, and law of conformity and exceeding.Besides, the thesis puts forward that west culture hegemony and colonial expanding do be hidden in globalization, and that the ideological and political education in developing countries faces varieties of crisis. Ideological and political education has to retain the root of national culture and state independence, and stick to the guidance of Marxism adamantly, while emphasizing globalization of ideological and political education. Therefore, education of values, education of patriotism and education of sense of the globe consist of the main content of ideological and political education.Since at present man's development is accomplished within the structure of space time of globalization, communication, a basic category of globalization, should go throughout globalization and man's development. Whereas, because there lack education of communication in ideological and political education on the background of globalization, ideological and political education needs and calls for new theoretic thinking. Communication, as the nuclear and basic characteristic of the era of globalization, becomes the new vision of contemporary ideological and political education. To grasp the development trend of contemporary ideological and political education of communication, we should combine communication and man's development to find out their intrinsic relationship, probe the function of communication to man's development to realize a higher level of conformity of ideological and political education by combining both of them intrinsically. Therefore, ideological and political education within the perspective of globalization has to concern communication to realize conversion of perspectives of ideological and political education: rooting itself in living world; dialogue, comprehension and share between subjects; and self construction one another.
