National Security And National Defense Economic Development

National security and national defense economic development are issues of strategic significance that have direct bearings on the survival and the development of a nation. The dissertation focuses on the historical and macroscopic reflections on national security and national defense economic development from a strategic standpoint. With the Marxist doctrines being the guiding principles, and with historical materialism and dialectical materialism being the methodology, the dissertation approaches the problem by carrying out a comprehensive study on the organic whole of national security and national defense economic development against the grand background of international strategy and national development. Through a historical reflection on China's national security and national defense economic development in modern times especially after the foundation of the PRC and a comparative reference to other nations' experiences and lessons in dealing with national security and national defense economic development issues, the author examines the intrinsic relations between them and their special law of interdependence and interaction which may lead to valuable revelations by combining history and reality, theory and practice that thereby provide guidance for the future development of China's national security and national defense economy with major breakthroughs and innovations in macroscopic operations and strategic guidance. Based on an in-depth historical investigation, the dissertation analyses the dialectical relations between national security and national defense economic development and presents innovative ideas on fostering new outlooks of national security and national defense economic development, and on establishing new theoretical system of national defense economic development. The dissertation also puts forward some new strategic solutions and measures on how to develop the national defense economy on behalf of the national security; on how to achieve coordinated development of national defense economy and national economy depending on national economy; on how to speed up the overalltransformation to an informationalized national defense economy and how to explore the path of informationalization with Chinese characteristics around the center of modernization and for the aim of building informationalized national defense; on how to further improve the development patterns of national defense economy with integrated military-civilian purposes by adapting to the socialist market economy and referring to those beneficial experiences of other nations; on how to actively participate in the international security cooperation under the condition of economic globalization and multipolarization in the international strategic structure; on how to promote national security and development in opening and cooperation while adhering to the prime principle of national interest, combining principles with flexibility; and on how to achieve sustained development of national defense economy through innovations in science and technology, institutions, legal systems and theories. The dissertation follows the rule of combining historical analysis and commentary with argumentation, and does not confine itself to the discussion of any certain historical period or any specific historical events. While referring to history, the dissertation devotes much of its space in applying historical experiences in the reality on behalf of future development. Moreover, the dissertation mainly focuses on the Chinese conditions while comparing with the foreign ones, combining historical contemplation with extensive comparison and contrast aimed at a scientific and dialectical conclusion which may finally lead to significant progresses in the macroscopic reflections on and the strategic guidance for China's national security and national defense economic development.
