Inspired by the ideas "China's peaceful revival" and "the initial decades of the 21~st Century being an essential period of strategic opportunities", this thesis aims to answer what diplomatic strategies should be adopted by China during its peaceful revival in the backdrop of economic globalization and political multi-polarization, regionalism being the theoretical framework. The study on China's regionalist strategies not only enriches the thinking of China's peaceful revival, but also provides an option catered to China's strategic practices in the course of its peaceful development. In this thesis, three challenging core questions are tackled. Firstly, it explains the urgent need for the study on China's regionalist strategies from the perspectives of times and background, inspirations of thinking, theoretical framework as well as historical conformation. Secondly, it provides answers with respect to what comprise China's regionalist strategies in terms of definition, theoretical connotations as well as conditions. Thirdly, it offers solutions as to how to execute China's regionalist strategies based on the case studies on the regionalist development of the East Asia and European Union. The Originalities of this study can be summarized as follows:(1)The study of regionalism is promoted from sheer theoretical depictions and static descriptions to diplomatic strategies and practices.(2)Academic demarcations and interpretations are presented as regards the concepts and characteristics of regionalist strategies.(3)Theoretical construction of China's Regionalist Strategies is conducted, and the original notions "Institutional Regionalist Strategies (IRS)" and "Open Regionalist Strategies (ORS) are put forward.(4)Experiential case studies are conducted with regard to China's Regionalist Strategies.
