There has been over 80 years for the study of the history of CPC which started from the birth of CPC. It has experienced arising, developing, complications and rejuvenation. But it will be destined to become the laughingstock in history if the studies are constantly varied in accordance with different periods of politics. Indeed, the relative independence of the studies has to be well maintained by the consciousness and great effort of the researchers.This fundamental change of the studies can be clearly observed from the large amount of documents made known to the public and the great attention the researchers paid to the unearthing of the documents during the past thirty years. Furthermore, it is deeply rooted in the empirical methods and principle based on facts. Among which, the emancipation of the mind and self-positioning is the key. It can be said that without the premise of the emancipation of the mind, the way of academy-orientation will be severely hindered. However, after the emancipation, the positioning of the researchers seems to be particularly important, otherwise, the conclusion will definitely be different. The studies of the history of the Communist Party of China during the past thirty years indicate that the well carried-out historical research can never be parted from the contribution of the historians. Through the unearthing of the historical documents and empirical methods, it is the historians who have gone through hardships to rectify mistakes and tried to go to the essence, thus promoting its academic process.Here, basically, the contribution of historian lies in the existence of its documents carried out through the practice and its great influence. The history of the research into the history of CPC proves that historical materials and documents are the foundation of the studies of the history of CPC. Otherwise, the argument does not belong to the field of history. The argument from the history is the way which has been the most fundamental experiences of the studies of history of CPC and has been reflected by the direct effect of the documents on the studies of history of CPC during the past 30 years.Compared with the thirty years before and after 1978 , the mind confined to both the negative effect of the documents publishing and research and the positive effect of lots of publishing and research on the emancipating the mind. The publishing documents of the history of CPC has promoted the academic progress of the research into the history of CPC and has involved powerfully the volumes of history by the politicians, which spurs the academic achievement to serve the politics. The phenomenon that the history is distorted to serve the reality even like the misrepresenting the history of CPC in the Cultural Revolution went away. This is the effect of the documents.No doubt about it, the specialty of the history of CPC exists. In some degree, both the domestic and foreign ancient and modern historians have the same problems when they study the contemporary history. So does the study of the history of CPC. However, it is necessary for the historians to obtain the material at length and make the objective conclusion on the basis of the historical facts. The researchers of the history of CPC may avoid some problems, but evading the some documents is not allowed when facing some certain problems.
