Contract Theory Of Truth

This thesis tries efforts to analyze such three traditional philosophical theories as coincidence, harmony and pragmatism in the following five chapters. On the basis of the theory, idea and method by Marxism, the theory of contractual truth, referred to western contractual theory, is composed in which the five chapters introspect the advantages and disadvantages of the traditional theories and the following subjects are discussed:(1) the traditional theories belong to "the discovery theory of the truth" and have close relation with knowledge despite the ignorance of intersubjectivity; (2) the traditional theories tend to contractual truth. It is clear that human being, not substance and practice, is the logic starting point of the contractual truth because substance issue belongs to ontology or natural science, it can be said that truth is concerned with knowledge of the human being. However, practice itself is complex and various; it can be used as the criterion of truth, but can be as the starting point. Our starting point is based on the people undertaking the activity, for people are personified with naturalness, socialness and consciousness. People go and work in groups for life to make means of production, all the uncertainty becomes relatively stable through the communication in the group activities. When people come to contract, their recognition is the truth, that is when X is the truth, it is only C, or when X is not the truth, it is only C, which is simplified into "contract C". "Contract C" can be found four features and has great differences with "contract T" (see also the text);(3) the existent grounds of the contractual truth. Contractual truth is objective, psychological and related with the language, as a result of which, people's knowledge to the world takes on construction, order and law with the development of the practice. Subjective knowledge is dependent on physical environment, heredity and social environment in addition to the harmony among them-- equilibrium. Autoregulation is the essence of the equilibrium, with its help; people's knowledge is formed after experiencing such stages as sensorimotor, pre-operation, concrete operation, form operation and INRC group. Knowledge structure is helpful to subjective understanding and restricts people's information process, rectification and explanation. Language has three effects on contractual truth: (i) conform and restrain people's information exchange; (ii) provides basic means for people's expression and communication; (iii) conserve people's achievements.(4) the essence of the contractual truth. Contractual truth displays its essence in the practice. Language mixes up with activity and forms language behavior, in which factuality of contractual truth is embodied. Contractual truth's restriction not only shows stage features of people's recognition but also lays a foundation for its later development. Contractual truth is integrated with perfection which reflects the harmony among people. Of course, the value and effectiveness of the contractual truth is embodied in its result, which indicates its feature of tool; (5) the value of the contractual truth. Truth is incarnated with the true, the good and the beautiful; its value should not be neglected: (i) contractual truth guides people with correct cognition, method and logic way and promotes the development of the human being's knowledge; (ii) people set up positive relation among them when contractual truth comes into being. They accept and share the knowledge created by the human being together and sincerely express their ideas, purposes, emotion and desires; (iii) human civilization is involved with contractual truth, the pursuit of truth pushes forward the improvement of morality, the norm of the law, the purification of the convention and the harmony of the society.
