The Subjectivity Threshold Under The Civil And Political Construct In The Logic Of Contemporary China,

Subjectivity is the characteristics of human to be dependant, conscientious, to choose and create. It's the great achievement of political civilization to confirm the subjective place and ultimate value of man. It's a history process and certain logic for the modern social life to develop subjectivity and intersubjectivity, morever, the community subjectivity and publicy with the expantion of man's activitiy and interactivity. Thus civic politics which reflects the inner demand to realize the individual subjectivity becomes the development tendency of modern politics. The social development in China shows the same process for subjectivity to grow. However, the barriers both in history and in reality have slowed the process. Therefore, it is an inevitable logic to effectively construct civic politics in transforming China whether in persperctive of Marx's subjectivity thought, human-oriented socialist value, or in the reality of democratic politics development in China. In order to fast the speed of political development, we Chinese should study and learn lessons about civic politics from the history and the world, recognize and accept the civic politics from Marx's subjectivity thought and socialism value to conscientiously construct political subjectivity by building of political institution, political culture and political subject. This study will be of help to advance Marxism theory, further clarify the essence and the development direction of socialism. It will also be significant to deal with the difficulties we Chinese meet to promote socialism democrocy and to construct socialist homonious society.This thesis contains an introduction, five chapters in main body and an additional part.Introduction part expounds the intention and significance to studuy civic politics, gives a description on the research situation both domestic and abroad, a portrait on the structure of the thesis and an explanation on the study method , novelty and proble in the thesis.In Chapter I Theoretical Base of Civic Politics: Political Subjectivity and Its Value of Man, subject and subjectivity of man are confirmed. The concord of individual, socioty and human proves in the dialect relation of subjectivity of individual, group and mankind. The logic history of modern society exposes the process from subjectivity, intersubjectivity to community subjectivity. Subjectivity and its value of man are analysed in the political view. Politcs is confirmed to be a way of deliberative public life in asking the questions "What is politics? What is politics for? " and "Whose politics is ? Who does politics? " The law of the politcal development that comes from the growth of man's subjectivity reveals the politics transformation from devine politics, monachy politics, noble politics or corp politics to civic politics.In Chapter II General Thoery Analyses of Civic Politics, civic politics is broadly defined as the way of democratic life, the process of modern state construction, the political institution by which people own sovereignty, the political culture that nurtures subject of civic politics,the political ideas and public practice that exceed the traditional ones. The value,institution, culture, practice of civic politics and their interaction are analyzed in the view of politics system. The self-consistency of civic politics is discussed in comparation with Populism Politics. Civic politics is summerized with the characteristic of democracy, rights,equal participation, rational deliberation, trust, coperation ,liberty and justice. Thus the general thoery system is constructed.In Chapter III History Progress of Civic Politics in West, development mechanism of civic politics in west is shown by trancing the political history from anceint Greek State.Then the inner core of political civilization in western civic politics is summerized that in civic politics liberty and equality forms its foundation , justice becomes its essense, toleration and compromise its nature, civil disobedience its pull, interaction of democracy and republic its inner core. Finally the inner extension and limitation of civic politics in west are discussed.That is, the ignorance of community intersubjectivity in domestic competitive democracy leads to democratic paradox and in international society results in an narrow nationism view of democracy. At last the contemporary renaissance status and future development trend of Western civic politics are analyzed theoretically and practically in the context of globalization.In ChapterIV Development of Civic Politics in China, subjectivity motivation of civic politics is explored from the traditional thought of Minben to the modern thought of Minquan or democracy. The difficult progress of civic politics in China is outlined to show the inevitability of civic politics in China theoretically and pratically. Secondly, civic culture is constructed to promote modern civic personality. Finally, civic education is enforced to boost the shaping of modern cultivated citizens.In the additional part Civic Politics Expansion in the World, the influence and effects of globalization to civic politics are wholly analyzed both in affirmative and in negative to indicate the cignificance that the global issues need global governnance and global governnance calls for the well-developed global civil society. After giving a brief analysis on the current situation and function of global civil society and global governance, the last task of this part illastrates the challenges and opportunities of global governance to China's political development as well as the the way China stands for.
