The Sponsoring income from background ad is one of the main revenues of sport events. The exposure parameter of the ad is the basis to assess the revenue of sponsoring and determine the price that sponsor can offer. The estimation of background ad exposure parameter is important for pre-event negotiation and bidding and post-event sponsoring assessing.Nowadays, the estimation work is mostly done after the sport events. The normal way is the observing-recording method. The pre-event estimation is based on experience. It can't be delimited by quantity and the result is not convincing for the sponsor.In recent years, the VR technology has been widely used in many fields, such as aerospace, medical practice, military exercise, architecture design and competitive sport. The VR uses modern computer technology to build a self-feeling virtual environment for users to communicate timely with.Considering the importance of predicting exposure parameter and the wide use of VR technology in many different domains, the VR technology will be used in the exposure parameter prediction of sport events background ad in this article. Meanwhile, a frame of the parameter-predicting theory will be set up and the corresponding software system will be developed in order to provide a new and effective predicting method for the exposure parameter prediction, which makes the result more scientific and dependable and contributes to the sponsoring decision and sponsor seeking.Dating back to the studying and applying status quo of pre-event and post-event estimation methods and VR technology, the basic thought and theory frame of exposure parameter predicting are proposed. The modeling and optimizing method of 3D-scene, the virtual prediction algorithm and software and its application instance are mainly discussed. The main conclusions are as flowing:According to the procedures of the pre-event and post-event exposure parameter measuring methods, the basic thought and the theory frame of virtual predicting are put forward. The four key technologies to realize the theory frame are:the modeling technology and the real-time displaying technology of 3D scene, the recognition of background ad and the excavating of TV transmitting discipline. Technically, a practical and stable system for the estimation of the background ad exposure parameter prediction is brought up.As the model of virtual 3D sport venue is huge, to overcome the contradiction between the real-time rendering speed and the computer hardware performance, a 3D data organization and management method, the dynamically loading and real-time roaming algorithm are proposed, which combined with 4-branch tree and pyramid model and applied the dynamic division strategy. The problems of dynamically loading and real-time rendering of 3D model are solved. Besides, a multi-resolving rate LOD model based on texture mapping was set up, so that the 3D model of sport events is simplified and the rendering and displaying speed are improved.According to the basic idea of post-event measuring method of background ad exposure parameter of sport events and the seed-filling algorithm of computer graphics, a virtual prediction algorithm is designed. This algorithm is simple, practical and efficient.The background ad exposure parameter predicting protosystem of sport events is designed and developed by combining with 3Dmax and OpenGL. The key technologies such as the founding, loading and real-time interaction of sports events 3D-scene model are deeply discussed. In addition, the getting and setting methods of virtual prediction premises are introduced, and the theory frame of virtual prediction is validated by an instance.In this article, the VR technology is applied to the prediction of background ad exposure parameter in sport events. It overcomes the difficulties that current prediction methods can not be applied because of the changes such as competition site, the quantity and layout of background ads and the television relay, et al. The quantitative prediction of background ad exposure parameters is achieved, which not only extends the application fields of virtual reality technology, but also promotes the applied research of virtual reality technology in the field of sports.However, because of the unique and complexity of sport events, the difference between different sport events is generally large, so further analysis for prediction error should be done in the following study and the main factors affecting the precision of prediction result should be excavated as soon as possible to heighten the credibility of the prediction result.
