The relationship between aesthetic education and personality has been a very significantissue,and it has been of great concern in the field of thinking and philosophy throughout thehistory.Even since the ancient Greece time in the west and our early Chin Dynasty,thissubject has been widely discussed.Since that time,the Chinese and Western philosophers,thinkers and estheticians have never stopped studying and discussing this issue.Especially inthe 20th century,the issue of aesthetic education and personality has developedunprecedentedly.The subject brought about different theories and schools,several theoreticalsystems which formed and developed greatly on the level of practice.This essay,whichaccommodates the features of the time and the needs of the society,starts with the analysis ofthe comparison between aesthetics and personality theories through the history and discussesthe necessity and possibility of aesthetic education during the personality cultivation.Guidedby and based on the theory of the aesthetic and personality in Marxist anthropologicalthinking,and beginning with the enhancement of relevance of the aesthetic education theorystudy,this essay analyses and discusses personality cultivation of college students,who willbe the future of our country and nation;tries to explain the characteristics,functions andpractice measures aiming at the personality cultivation of college students and constructs thebasic aesthetic education mold oriented form the personality cultivation of college students.On the method,seeing that aesthetic education is a humanities subject and also aninterdisciplinary subject,this essay adopts the specific research method of humanitiessubjects,the"human science"method.Adhering to the basic principles and viewpoints ofMarxism,the essay pays much attention to the aesthetic education study which ismulti-dimensioned,interpretative and with obvious value orientations.Meanwhile,the"comprehensive comparison"aesthetic study method,which is founded by our country'sfamous aesthetician Jiang Kongyang,has also been used during the study.Mr.Jiang has said,"By comprehensive comparison of the advantages of many,we can bring out new ideas andform new schools."With the regard to content,this essay aims to study two issues:One is to prove thataesthetic education is the only way of college students' personality cultivation,and aestheticeducation is irreplaceable during the personality cultivation of college students.This partadopts the"stripping"method,and starts from the most micro philosophical level,therelationship between"aesthetics and personality",and explains the esthetics and personality,aesthetic education and personality cultivation,aesthetic education and college students'personality cultivation one by one.The other one is to demonstrate the characteristics ofaesthetic education and its implementation strategies aiming at the college students' personality cultivation.This part of study takes college aesthetic education as background,college students' personality cultivation as research object,binds with the current situation ofcollege aesthetic education,and explains the aesthetic education issues of the characteristic,aim,content,principle,method,carrier and operation.aiming at the college students'personality cultivation.The whole essay is mainly divided into seven parts:The introductionThis part mainly discusses four issues:The first is the illustration of the themeinterpretation and study field.The second is the introduction of the essay frame.The third isan outline of the current internal and external study situation.The fourth is the introduction ofthe study method of this essay.Chapter One,aesthetics and personalityThis part examines the important personality theories in all times and all countries.Frommany comparative analyses of personality theories,basic theories of personality connotationin this essay are extracted that is the personality theory in Marxist anthropological thinking:The possession of innate material property is the unification of the human essence of speciesand the society essence.It can be constructed according to the rule of aesthetics and point toperfect and free development.Aesthetics and personality have natural and internalconnections.Aesthetics is pre-existent and also derived from experience.They are unified inthe establishment and development of personality.The acquired education plays a veryimportant role in personality cultivation.Considering comprehensively the understanding ofthe relationship between aesthetic and personality from eastern and western thinkers andphilosophers,and based on the theory of the aesthetic and personality in Marxistanthropology,this essay argues that aesthetics is the realm of personality,the highest level ofthe personality structure,and the inevitable trend of ideal personality.Chapter two,aesthetic Education and personality cultivationAesthetic education does not have a long history as a concept itself.But the thinking ofhuman aesthetic education has a long standing.On the meaning of aesthetic education,thereis no agreed opinion in the aesthetics and education circles.This essay proposes that aestheticeducation is a kind of special education,which is to cultivate the ability of the educated toappreciate,accept and create aesthetics through the edification of beautiful things,improvethe aesthetic quality,form the aesthetic attitude,learn the aesthetic existence,and finallyreach the perfect personality.The three typical features of personality outlined by Marx are:ideality,Constructiveness and sociality.The cultivation of personality is not only through theknowledge impartation in school classes,but also through various measures in order topromote the individuals to construct themselves actively according to"the rule of aesthetics"and finally reach"the state of aesthetics",i.e.,the perfect and free development.Aestheticeducation is the main approach of personality cultivation.It is the only way to realize ideal personality.This part describes the target,content and the form of aesthetic education aimingat the personality cultivation.Chapter three,aesthetic education and personality cultivation of college studentsThe college students undertake the future and hope of the country and nation.Facing theinterference of such social problems as the sharp transformation of the society,the stream ofwestern negative ideas and the education in only-child families,some of the college studentstend to have some problems,such as they prefer utility to morality,material to cultivation,enjoyment to responsibility.Therefore,the personality cultivation of college students isimperative.The aesthetic education is"irreplaceable"in the process of personality cultivationof college students.It aims at the ideal personality cultivation and plays a decisive role incultivating the ideal personality of college students.The ideal personality of contemporarycollege students,the epochal personality,should have deep humanistic care,and harmonious,enthusiastic,creative,and free and ease personality traits.To understand the traits of aestheticeducation,aiming at the personality cultivation of college students,we should hold theseseven relationships:the dialectical unifications of directivity and non-utilitarianism,independence and permeability,generality and individuality,guidance and experience,timeand nobleness,class and out-side class,and school and out-side school.Chapter four,the target and content of aesthetic education aiming at the personalitycultivation of college studentsThe implementation of the aesthetic education,aiming at personality cultivation ofcollege students,and the selection of the design of aesthetic education targets should alwaysadhere to the improvement of all-round development and the better life and center on thepersonality cultivation and personality improvement.According to the human care spirit andthe independent,harmonious,enthusiastic,creative,and free and ease personality traits of thenew period college student,the target of aesthetic education should be composed by thesub-goals from three dimensions:the level of improving student's aesthetic needs,thecultivation of students' all-round aesthetic emotion and judgment,leading the students toform a stabilized,generalized personality structure.To construct the aesthetic educationaiming at the personality cultivation of college students,we should follow several basic rules,namely,the rule of respecting the growth the students,the rule of respecting aestheticeducation,and the rule of respecting development through time.The content of aestheticeducation regards the personality cultivation of college students as the starting point and thefixed point.It should start from the basic rule of aesthetic psychology structure,andemphasize the content design and implementation on the aesthetic cognitive education,aesthetic ideal education and the aesthetic practice education.Chapter five,the principles and method of aesthetic education aiming at the personalitycultivation of college studentsThere are various categories of principles and methods of aesthetic education.The discussions about this topic from aestheticians both at home and abroad are extensive,andthey are all reasonable and feasible in some respects.According to the comprehensivetheoretic viewpoint of aestheticians in the history and the aesthetic education workingpractice of colleges in China and abroad,this essay proposes that the aesthetic education,aiming at the personality cultivation of college students,should adhere to the four basicprinciples as,teaching for pleasure,imperceptible influence,teaching in accordance withaptitude,and step by step.These accord with the basic principles of education and the basicprinciples of aesthetic education.On the method of aesthetic education,aiming at thepersonality cultivation of college students,we should use a knowledge imparting method,practice experiencing method,environment edifying method,self-educating method,emotionresonance method and peer counseling communicating method as the main approaches.Itshould emphasize the comprehensive application of the above methods,in order the sameresult can be achieved with half the effort.Chapter six,the carrier and operation of aesthetic education,aiming at the personalitycultivation of college studentsThe"carrier"of the aesthetic education,aiming at the personality cultivation of collegestudents,refers to the forms which are able to carry and transfer the content and message ofthe aesthetic education aimed at the personality cultivation of college students.Four basiccarriers are included:the basic carrier literature and art class teaching,a generalcarrier——good campus culture,a special carrier——the personality charm of teacher,compound carrier network platform and the infiltration of aesthetic education from othersubjects.To build the operation mechanism of the aesthetic education,aiming at thepersonality cultivation of college students,is a fundamental project which would make theeducation of aesthetic and the personality quality of college students develop in a normal,orderly and effective way.Concretely,this includes the establishment of the aestheticeducation leadership mechanism of secondary management system by both the university andthe school,the establishment of an aesthetic education dynamic mechanism relying on the"discipline construction",the establishment of an aesthetic education guarantee mechanismwhich is"whole staff,whole course,and omnidirectional",the establishment of an aestheticeducation evaluation mechanism relying on the"individualized evaluation system",and theestablishment of an aesthetic education team construction mechanism with the premise of"improved teachers' aesthetic education cultivation".The aesthetic education,aiming atpersonality cultivation of college students,should hold all the carriers of aesthetic educationcomprehensively,balance the operation of all the mechanisms of aesthetic education andbuild the education pattern of a"great aesthetic education"with the"secondary management"of the whole society.
