In the contemporary society of globalization, informationization and post-modern, teachers are going through a complicated and changing environment containing the pluralistic society of value and the conflict of culture. At the same time, the crisis of identity has been affecting teachers' career life and individual development. As teachers have to face the crisis of confidence in the social transformation, the crisis of the growth in the education reform, the crisis of the moral in the employment and the crisis of identity they have been involved into. Under this background, the question closely "Who is the teacher?" has been becoming an ontological and antecedent question. Since teachers act as the social meaning performer for the purpose of social order and the codes of conduct, values and ethics, teachers' professional ethics is an important dimension of their identity and a key factor for teachers to develop their professional abilities, as well as a must and an unavoidable topic. The research makes identity as a perspective, hopefully changes paradigms of teacher's moral development to promote their morality entomological development and glory teachers' life and improve the quality of teachers' career life through revealing the internal mechanism of teachers' moral development.This research contains five chapters, following up main contents and structures:Introduction sets out the overall scope of the study, research methods and research ideas, defines the core concepts and takes an account on related literature.The first chapter proposes the problems existing in teacher's moral development through the descriptions of some phenomenon and indicates the crisis that teachers encounter in the current identity and the "self-independent crisis" divides inherently moral development framework of teachers, resulting in the loss of teacher's sense of identity and significance. In the teacher's life world, some teachers have taken the utilitarian desire to replace the sense of mission during the increasingly mediocre moral development, and a small number of teachers appear vulgar corruption or even more degenerate like demons. However, most teachers in their spiritual world face the dilemma that teachers are the sacrifice of lives or the publicity; the models or the ordinary people; the pursuit for their career or just means of subsistence. The veneer of public discourse on private discourse in teachers' ethics makes both their spiritual world and their life-world involved into dual crisis.The second chapter carries out the examination and analysis on the questions appearing in teachers' moral development, explaining and analyzing from the four aspects: developing ideology, social environments, teacher's ethics education and teachers' individual levels. The author thinks teacher's morality development results from a wide range of internal and external factors and identity is the spontaneous cause of teachers' ethics development. After the studies on the vision of man, it is found that the empty field of human appears during the developing of teacher's morality, so that there are deficiencies and deviations in the consciousness, carefulness, and development orientation which are needed for their moral development. Teachers' moral development encounters the negative effects brought about by the globalization, the value of diversity and consumer society in reality; as a result, teacher has to face the strong shocks accused by his self-anxiety, moral-disordered and ideal-nihilism. The oppression and excessive competition from educational environment narrow space for moral development of teacher. The differences of status, treatment and social reputation among teachers within the same identity result in an imbalance in the mentality of teachers. There are also many phenomena in the development of teachers' ethics, such as formalism existing in moral education, simple operation during moral appraisal or moral transformation pushed by temptation. For teacher himselves, it is because there is something wrong with their identity; and their reconstruction of identity is affected by deconstruction of their traditional identity, the interchange of their connotation of the current identity and their vague and changing the sense of identity.The chapter three gives an interpretation on the identity of teachers' moral development and believes teacher is the provisions of the existence of morality. The historical evolution of moral development theories indicates that the moral development of teacher should follow up the exhaustive line of identity construction, identity is the logical starting point of teachers' moral development, as well as the teachers' moral development and identity are the symbiotic co-existence. Accordingly, the relationships that teachers have to meet cause that the author discusses from three aspects: self-identity is the underlying cause of teachers' moral development; teachers agree that the survival of Ethics Development Schema is acknowledged by others; group-identity is the scale of reality.Chapter Four answers in practice that identity is the process of self-constructed of teachers' moral development and the process of building is also a practice. During the process, teachers should establish the identity of ethical responsibility for the identity. Teachers' moral development should be turned from "education-based form" to "endogenous-based form" and teachers should become "initiative" but "passive", join "teachers' life"and back to "career life". During teachers' identity, teachers should reflect themselves morality and generate the moral wisdom and practice on ethics to develop their morality in the way of interaction and mutual promotion.In a word, teachers' moral development is not a simple process, but it is concerned complicatedly with identity. Both identity and teachers' moral development should be rooted into the reality in working places, and be constructed automatically in practice. As an exploratory study, it enriches the theory of moral development, broadens the perspective of research of teachers moral at the same time, it also supplies a new train of thought, leading teachers to reflect on themselves, enhancing self-awareness more positive space. As the constant changing of the connotation of teachers' identity, identity and moral development have been developing with teachers' career process. Both in theory and in practice, teachers' morality development has a long way to go and it is developing consistently.
