What is being investigated in this dissertation originated from the project-"IP Core Design of Tri-port Ethernet Interface Module based on AHB Bus", staked by Shenzhen ZTEIC Design CO., Ltd. that is one of the enterprises of "909" project. This paper dedicated itself to IP core design of tri-port Ethernet interface module and its verification methods.This paper emphasize particularly on applied research, the research objectives includes (1) Switch fabric, (2) IP core design of tri-port Ethernet interface module, (3) Function verification methods of tri-port Ethernet interface module, and (4) design method and structure of IAD application specific SoC,The main research and originality of this paper can be summarized as below:1. This paper presents a novel switch fabric matching with application of VOIP —— OSMSFV switch fabric whose principle is very simple and applicability is better. While meeting the switch capacity and turn-through speed required by VOIP, the switch fabric is easily to be implemented, which makes the final design simple and efficient.2. The paper presents the whole design for IP core of tri-port Ethernet interface module; puts forward the design of Ethernet port, the structure designs of the reception and transmission blocks of Ethernet, as well as the structure design of especial DMA. The Ethernet State Machine adopting microcode design method is characterized by short-period design and easily debugging. The originality regarding to control and processing methods include: (1) The paper establishes the routing rules for IP core of tri-port3. Ethernet interface module to VLAN packet and non-VLAN packet. (2) The paper states the flow control method based on the elastic buffer of reception queue, processing mechanism of VLAN frame and priority processing mechanism. (3) Aiming at arbitration and selection of input queue, the paper brings forward dynamic priority control technologies.4. The originality regarding to function verification methods of tri-port Ethernet interface module are: (1) Combining hybrid level orthogonal list and virtual level method, orthogonal design method is introduced into the verification scheme of Ethernet state machine to effectively enhance verification efficiency. (2) By theoretically analyzing the port state diagram, the paper presents a method to validate all the port states of Ethernet state machine and their shifts. The method is free from the influence of the number of ports; and it can greatly reduce the verification space.5. The paper presents design scheme of the IAD application specific SoC. In order to simplify the integration of IPs, the design scheme makes use of AHB bus as the interlinkage on-chip bus. In addition, it is of great pertinence to shape the design scheme of the SoC according to the application requirements of IAD.IP core design of tri-port Ethernet interface module has been successfully accomplishes and this design has succeeded in the function simulation and the synthesis ability test. Its production has been integrated on the IAD application specific SoC——ZCP310A. At the same time, the function simulation shows that the design scheme of the IAD application specific SoC is feasible.
