Research On RMB Internationalization

Especially after the south-east crisis of the 1997, RMB internationalization has been the focus of the Chinese government. Recently Chinese government has been taking many measures to push the process.The logic structure and outlineThe paper is to analyze three questions:the first one is the cause and condition of the RMB internationalization; the second one is the patters and procedures; the third one is the risk and risk-avoid.The paper is made of six chapters. Chapter 1 introduce the necessity the purpose and the content of the paper.Chapter 2 introduces the conception of the international currency and currency Internationalization firstly. Then the author introduces some relative theories. Last the author analyzes the current condition of RMB.Chapter 3 analyzes the cause and the current condition of RMB. The author analyzes the scope of the RMB, and the position of RMB on the international financial market. Then the author analyzes the level of RMB and the factors that effecting the RMB internationalization.Chapter 4 analyzes the process of the three main international currencies. Based on this, the author sums up the experience and brings some measures for RMB internationalization. Especially the process of the Japanese currency and Germany currency is the guide of the RMB internationalization.Chapter 5 analyzes the path of RMB internationalization and the policies. Firstly, the author designs the principle on RMB internationalization. Based on this, the author discusses the specific measures. The measures are as followings:the first one is to expand the settlement role of RMB; the second one is to develop the RMB off-shore financial market; the third one is to strength the cooperation among the East Asian countries. There is a path to be discussed only from a long run.Chapter 6 analyzes the risk of RMB internationalization and the risk-avoid. RMB internationalization will bring some risk and affect the domestic economic policies. So it will be very important to avoid the risk.The new ideas of the paperFirstly, the author thinks that there is no need to talk about the necessity of RMB Internationalization. RMB is playing an international currency role for the neighbor countries and regions partly. So the author analyses the cause of RMB Internationalization considering the current condition.Secondly, the author discusses Triffin dilemma according to different period of RMB Internationalization.Thirdly, the orientation of RMB off-shore financial market is to help the foreign trade settlement.The paper has not used the new data. The path to RMB Internationalization is not discussed overall.
