Study On The Utilization Of Venture Capital In Agriculture

Venture capital is the result of the enterprise creation in the market oriented economies and is a special way of financing to support enterprise establishments. Being an advanced form of market economy development, venture capital plays an important role in promoting enterprise creation, boosting medium-small sized enterprises to develop, optimizing recourses, adjusting the economic structure and speeding the process of financial system reform.By the middle of the year of 2005, there have been 104 agriculture venture invested enterprises in China. These enterprises' business covers almost all the fields of agriculture. The parents of trod ional agriculture and venture capital produce the child of the modern agriculture, which acclimatizes itself to the modern agricultural operations and explores the relationship between venture capital and agriculture. It is an important issue to make good use of venture capital in agriculture.This thesis makes a comprehensive and systemic study on the relationship between Chinese agriculture and venture capital. Firstly, this thesis describes the actualities of venture capital at home as well as abroad, pointing out the relationship between venture capital and Chinese agriculture. Then the author puts forward the topic, the main content, some essential issues and the meaning of this study. In this part, the author also hackles and appraises the past researches and relative theories, pointing out the limitations. After explaining several concepts and research methods, the author outlines the thesis structure. Secondly, the paper introduces the connotations, characteristics and elements of venture capital in detail. And then the paper sums up the basic traits and applicable situations in which venture capital can be functioned. In this part, the author finds out venture capital does not only promote the development of high tech industry but also benefits all enterprises and industries with great potential. Thirdly, making a brief overview of the use of agricultural venture capital theoretically, the author points out the theory basis of the combination between agriculture and venture capital from the points of view of the way of resource allocation, enterprise organism and the function etc. On the basis of the review and prospect of the venture capital, the author demonstrates the base of the combination between venture capital and agriculture. These studies are on the basis of consideration of our Chinese agricultural development and agricultural industrialization. Fourthly, the paper analyzes and summarizes the inbeing, characteristics and functions of different venture capitals. From the governmental venture capital, nongovernmental venture capital and foreign capital aspects, the author probes into the models of using venture capital into Chinese agriculture industry and gives corresponding examples according to each model. To make institutional and organism innovations and create proper enterprises, the ways of using agricultural venture capital are put forward at the end of this part. Fifthly, this paper makes some demonstration analysis on how to use venture capital in agriculture. In this part, the author introduces the basic situation of agricultural use of venture capital and anal sizes the characteristics and fundamental states of the agricultural enterprises and institutes that made use of venture capital.
