A Study In Resource Recycle Management Of Wastes In Taiwan

The waste management in Taiwan faces the problem of fast growing amount of domestic wastes. Currently, Taiwan is promoting "Resource Recycling Refuse Minimization" and "Zero Waste" programs to address this issue. However, the resource recycle rate did not meet the expectation. This thesis tries to find out the reasons and provides improvement solutions in order to achieve the goal of resource recycling and Refuse minimization.In this research, first we studied the regulations tools, realized the theory of recycle economics, and explored the latest environmental tools in business. Therefore, we find different regulation tools have different effects. Strengthening people's attitude for waste recycling is important. In addition, we find ten benefits on waste recycle for business.Second, comparing the recycling executions in different countries, including Germany, Japan, and USA, we analyzed and compared various aspects of these countries' recycling experience including the trend of recycling, waste management structure and success of the scheme, fiscal incentives, public awareness, market and future development.We point out the problems of current system in Taiwan and provide solutions based on what we learnt from studied case. We also provided Taiwanese case on waste recycle.
