The theory of the foreign direct investment primarily studies the relationship between the foreign direct investment and the economic development, analyses the factors which influence the regional distribution of the foreign direct investment, as well as the interactions between the factors, and provides the theoretical reference for the governments in the world on making the policy of the management of the foreign direct investment.Based on the previous studies of the foreign direct investment, this thesis analyses the factors which influence the regional distribution of the foreign direct investment, and combining with the panel data model and spatial econometrical model, makes an empirical studies on the impact factors respective for different regions and different periods. And on the base of the empirical study, this thesis discusses the suggestions of using the foreign direct investment efficiently, provides the theoretical reference for our government making the policy of the management of the foreign direct investment.According to arrangement of the research content, this thesis is divided into seven chapters. The first chapter is introduction. This chapter focused on the background and the purpose of the study, the thoughts and the arrangement of the content, as well as the innovation of the study. The second chapter is the previous related summaries. This chapter firstly reviewed some classical theories of the foreign direct investment in details for determining the factors which influence the regional distribution of the foreign direct investment. And then this chapter reviewed the previous empirical studies on the factors influencing the regional distribution of the foreign direct investment. The third chapter is depict of the foreign direct investment in china and the analysis of the disproportion on the regional distribution of the foreign direct investment in China. This chapter depicted the amounts of the FDI(Foreign Direct Investment) in china, the type of FDI, the resource countries of FDI firstly. And then this chapter depicted the regional distribution of the foreign direct investment in details. At last, on the base of the discussion on the measures of the inequality, thischapter used the general entropy to analyse the disproportion on the regional distribution of the foreign direct investment in China. The fourth chapter is the empirical study on the regional distribution of the foreign direct investment on the base of the panel data model. From the perspective of the empirical study, this chapter used the panel data model to analyse the impact of the factors respective for different regions and different periods. At first this chapter analysed the impact factors, and then introduced the data source, at last made an empirical studies on the impact factors respective for different regions and different periods and analysed the variation of the impact model on different regions and different periods .The fifth chapter is the empirical study on the regional distribution of the foreign direct investment on the base of the spatial econometrical model. From the perspective of the interaction of the regions, this chapter used the spatial econometrical model to analyse the impact of the factors respective for different periods. At first this chapter introduced the method of the spatial econometrical model, and then made an explanation on the parametric estimation of the spatial econometrical model, at last made an empirical study on the impact factors respective for different periods and analysed the variation of the impact model on different periods .The sixth chapter is the suggestions on the promotion of the efficiency of the utilization on the foreign direct investment. This chapter firstly analysed the problems of the utilization of the foreign direct investment in China from the various perspectives, and then made some suggestions of the promotion of the efficiency of the utilization on the foreign direct investment. The seventh chapter is the conclusion. This chapter summarized the conclusion of the study and the limits of the study, and discussed the question which needs further studies. This thesis is based on the previous studies of the theory of the foreign direct investment, combined with the situation of China, absorbed the previous empirical studies and the new model in the econometrics, made some innovations as follows:1.This thesis used the general entropy to analyse the disproportion on the regional distribution of the foreign direct investment in China, and decomposed the disproportion according to the three parts of our country: east, centre and west, inorder to figure out the disproportion of each part and the disproportion between them. Through the analysis, we can learn more about the disproportion on the regional distribution of the foreign direct investment, and reveal the main source of the disproportion.2.On the base of the previous studies, this thesis made a further research on the empirical study on the regional distribution of the foreign direct investment. On the base of the panel data model, this chapter used the panel data model to analyse the impact of the factors respective for different regions and different periods, and made a comparative analysis on the variations of the impact model for different regions and different periods. This study can help the local governments make the policy suitable for their characteristics.3.Using the spatial econometrical model based on the panel data, from the perspective of the spatial relationship between the regions, this thesis analysis the interactive model between the regions on the foreign direct investment, and analyse the impact of the factors respective for different periods. Therefore, based on a new spatial perspective, this thesis made a contribution on the empirical study of the regional distribution of the foreign direct investment.
