The Chinese Private Enterprise Owners' Political Behaviors

This dissertation, based on the political market theory in the Public Choice theory, brought up the quasi-market-political process theory through exchanging the hosts of the political market. And then it analyzed the essential factor, behavior pattern as well as the behavior distortion, the variation, alliance and split of private enterprise owners'behaviors in their political life. Through these analyses, it revealed that there was not only internal behavior motivation but also deep system foundations for their behaviors. In this kind of intrinsic actuation and under external system foundation function, private enterprise owners'political behaviors were able to be accommodated by the current system, and it also had some inevitability for certain overflow system frame behaviors.This dissertation had adopted the method that combined quantitative investigation and qualitative investigation. This research selected a group of private enterprises in a south county level city, where private enterprises are extremely developed, as sample group, and took many deep interviews with records containing over three hundred thousand words. And another three hundred questionnaires by private enterprise owners also helped to feed the basic needs for the research. As an explanatory and analytical research, this study aimed to establish theoretical model the brand-new theory, and also analyzed the new question with existing theories which has unified the brand-new data interpretation: providing a brand-new view angle to deeper understand the regularity of private enterprise owners'political behaviors and making creative explanations. The research found that sense of social responsibility was the motivation for the private enterprise owners'political behaviors. But sense of social responsibility could not be explained by rational economic man supposition and transaction supposition in the politics market theory. The author treated the behavior motivated by the sense of social responsibility as quasi-market-political behavior variations and believed that it provided the materials and space for the modifications of the political market theory.The dissertation included five chapters: The first part was an introduction and brought up a question at first. The scene of private enterprise owners who had to face a non-economic market outside of the economic market was pointed out. And it brought forward a way that using the concept of the quasi-market-political process to analyze the private enterprise owners'political behaviors. It tidied up and summed up the investigation correlated with the private enterprise owners'political behaviors. And finally, the dissertation introduced the research methods, the application and the resource and using of the materials.Chapter two mainly studied private enterprise owner's political behaviors in the view of the theory of the quasi-market-political behaviors. Firstly, the part elaborated private enterprise owners'political demand and the essential political capital factors. And then the dissertation argued the point that private enterprise owners' behaviors could be explained by rational economic man supposition and transaction supposition in quasi-market-political process. Finally the dissertation studied the political behavior theory of the West and tidied up the tools of analyzing. And then it pointed out the sense for reference.Chapter three was about the quasi-market-political behavior pattern of private enterprise owners, such as private enterprise owners' behaviors in the Party construction in private corporations, in the political status arrangement and the political contact, in the bureaucratic- enterprise-status transform, and go-off-course behaviors of private enterprise owners. It explored the relation between Go-off-course of the political behavior and deviation from the norm with the authority concerns.Chapter four studied further the quasi-market-political behavior of private enterprise owners in the view of developing and varying. It mainly discussed the unbalance of quasi-market-political process and the distortion of private enterprise owners'behavior which caused by the official-strong and enterprise-weak supplier market,internal behavior motivation caused by the responsibility of the society and the alliance of private enterprise owners behavior. Finally this part researched the development of private enterprise owners'political culture and the split-up tendency of private enterprise owners'political behavior.In the conclusion part, the author pointed out the system foundation of private enterprise owners'quasi-market-political behavior, as well as two kinds of conditions of private enterprise owners'political behavior: existence system accommodation and the system overflow.
