The Research On The Relationship Between Chinese Outward FDI And International Trade

International trade and International direct investment are two most important economic activities,therefore,their interact relationship should be discovered so as to produce a harmony of the policies on the two.International trade are outward FDI are virtually different choices of the enterprises operating overseas.Their relationship is both substitution and complementary effects, further interact effects.With the globalization of the economy,the integration of international trade and international direct investment is a kind of main international economy phenomena.This paper analyses the present situation of Chinese international trade and outward FDI,and provides with feasible overseas strategy.First,the thesis summarizes and evaluates the influential theories of the relationship between outward FDI and international trade from western countries.It reviews mudell's theory of substitution effects,kojima's theory of complementary effects,theory of interact effects.On the base,we provide a theoretical framework for analyzing the relationship between outward FDI and international trade.The relationships between investment and trade are typically viewed from the perspective of home country,host country and third-party countries which may be affected by this relationship.The author analyze the relationship between outward FDI and trade at the micro(firm), the middle-wide(industry) and the macro(country-wide) from home country.These analysis give us the multidimensional issues of the relationship between outward FDI and international trade,which is all round.This article analyzes empirically the relationship between empirically the relationship between outward FDI and international trade from the United States,Japan and the Republic of Korea by utilizing detailed statistics data.By examining and analyzing the practice from the world main countries,Its summarizes the general cause of the relationship between outward FDI and international trade.Based on the achievement in theory research and the successful experience, the author inquire into the relationship between outward FDI and international trade from china.The paper introduces the development direction and status quo in china,then analyzes empirically the relationship between outward direct investment and international trade from China at the middle-wide and the macro.The result of study shows there are not interact relationship between outward FDI(which approved by ministry of commerce) and international trade from China.The author analyze the reason of the relationship at the micro, middle-wide and macro.At present,the main problems of Chinese outward FDI are the following:the outward FDI lacks unified macro-management and layout; The investment industry structure is not reasonable enough;The outward FDI industry does't bring along home related industry.The micro-basis of the investing enterprise is not sound,the degree of the integration of management is low and so on.With the development of globalization of the world economy and the further opening-up of China,utilizing actively domestic and international markets and resources becomes more and more necessary to boost china economy.Combining the new development direction of the trade and investment integration and Chinese actual situation,also concentrating on the impacts of outward FDI on the international trade of China,the author put forward many strategies and counter measures for the Chinese enterprises and the government to develop outward FDI.Our ultimate and solitary goal is just to improve the external trade and lead to a sustainable development of Chinese international trade.To bring the positive impact of outward FDI into full play on Chinese economy,we should make the focal points on the industries,locations,main bodies and patterns selection in the respect formulating the strategies to develop outward FDI.
