The important task of exploration and development of low permeability lithologic reservoir is to effectively evaluate hydrocarbon reservoir and oil rich domain. Well logging, as an important method, faces challenges of "low contrast", "low adaptability" and "nonlinearity" in recognizing and evaluating hydrocarbon reservoir. Based on modern high-precision logging and imaging logging, with systemic research of petrophysics and logging-geology, it sets up the method of evaluating hydrocarbon potential and oil-gas rich domain, which is of great theoretical and realistic significance to guiding scientific exploration, reserves calculation and efficient development of oil and gas resources.This paper, with the research object of Chang 8 member of Yanchang formation in Jiyuan region in Ordos Basin, based on the core and analytical data, by the integrated use of sedimentology, logging-geology and petrophysics, theoretically studies the characteristics of sandstone body distribution, sedimentary faces and trap, analyzes the controlling factors of the oil reservoir forming, develops the method of indentifying low permeability lithologic reservoir, expatiates the laws of oil saturation, discusses the method of productivity prediction and rich domain evaluation, and provides some favorable exploration target.Sedimentary facies and reservoir research indicate that Chang 8 reservoirs of Jiyuan mainly develops braided channel delta sand which is controlled by northwestern resource, physical property of reservoir presents low porosity and ultra low permeability. Sedimentary microfacies and diagenetic facies control the distribution of beneficial reservoir. Hydrocarbon reservoir of Chang 8 presents "near-source and favorable facies", pressure difference gradient of resource-reservoir and pore configuration of reservoir control the distribution of oil saturation-resistivity index. While the oil sources is wealthy, contact deposit of resource-reservoir can generate blanket and continuous hydrocarbon reservoir,which presents extra high oil saturation and ultra low inferior limit of oil layer.With the investigation of sediment, reservoir and formation, the study for hydrocarbon potential and rich domain evaluation is evolved. Difference between rock electricity relationship of low permeability reservoir and classical Archie model is analyzed; Porous coexisting saturation interpretation model is built which presents variable rock-electricity parameter. Methods of using logging data to identify diagenetic facies and evaluate pore configuration speedily and continuously are studied. A series of singular recognition methods for tight and complicated layer are proposed which contains multi-parameter intersection method, elementary error analytic approach, TPI(tri-porosity index) method, logging and total hydrocarbon combination interpretation method and so on. Logging evaluation parameters of rich domain are formed which provides the reference for optimize rich domain.
