With the rapid pace of oil exploration and exploitation, gas drilling has been receivedmore and more attention for its high mechanical drilling rate and short drilling cycle.However, there has been the technical bottleneck in its formation adaptability research. In thispaper, YuanBa Area is taken as research object. Based on the analysis of regional geology,drilling and rock physics experiment data, gas drilling adaptability logging evaluation methodand technology system are developed using logging technical advantages such as high verticalresolution, continuous measurement and large amount of information etc. It meets the gasdrilling adaptability evaluation requirement.Based on the reservoir physical property parameters are calculated, the gas drillingadaptability evaluation of pre-spud fluid property rapid identification method and system isestablished. Based on the accurate determination of rock logging framework parameter,reservoir petrophysical parameters are calculated. Reservoir fluid property identification isdiscriminated with various analysis methods such as three porosity interpolation method, thecross-plot method, normal distribution method, the temperature anomaly analysis, doublelateral resistivity analysis and logging display auxiliary found general method etc., and aresearch work area reservoir evaluation standard is developed.Based on the rock experiment analysis, gas drilling adaptability evaluation of pre-spudrock mechanics parameter logging calculation method and system are formed. Based on therock experimental analysis, the theoretical model of rock physical parameters is analyzedsystematically. The calculation methods for research work area stratum are developed to theelastic modulus, poisson’s ratio, rock compressive strength, tensile strength, cohesion andinternal friction angle etc.Comprehensive utilization and experimental analysis of the well logging data, gasdrilling adaptability evaluation of pre-spud ground logging evaluation method and system are formed. Using a variety of logging data, ground stress direction of YuanBa area is analyzed,and the stress of the work area is calculated with Kaiser Effect experiment analysis andfracturing data inversion method. Stress distribution rule around the logging is analyzed andevaluated.Based on the three formation pore pressure profile stablished, gas drilling adaptabilityevaluation of pre-spud borehole wall stability logging evaluation method and system areformed. Based on the analysis of the measured data of pore pressure in the work area, porepressure logging prediction research of the work area is developed with the normalcompaction trend theory. Stratum collapse pressure calculation model and fracture pressurecalculation model are used to predict YuanBa Area under the condition of seepage and noseepage for wall, respectively.
