Depending on sedimentology, high sequence stratigraphy, geochemistry, coal petrology, extinct organism stratigraphy, and drilling,logging, the paper do systematic research of the permain coal bearing strata in the study area.The sedimentary facies, high resolution sequence stratigraphy, lithofacies palaeogeography, coal accumulating patterns and controlling factors were researched. Set up the high resolution sequence stratigraphic framework, and Summing up the law of coal accumulation based on the high resolution sequence stratigraphic framework, and expounds the reason.1. In the Permian coal bearing strata of research area,2 sedimentary facies including the delta facies and Barrier coast facies,6 subfacies and 15 microfacies are identified. sedimentary facies characteristics of Taiyuan Formation, Shanxi Formation, Xiashihezi Formation and Shangshihezi Formation were discussed, and sedimentary facies correlation profiles of sedimentary facies were compiled。2. According to the drilling core, logging curve, lithology, paleontology and geochemistry datum, Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅳ interface are identified, based on high resolution sequence stratigraphic, The strata of the research area are divided into 4 super long term cycle,9 long term cycles,22 medium-term cycles. and respectively established the high-resolution sequence stratigraphic framework in the area of western, central and Eastern。3. Based on the high resolution sequence stratigraphy, compile lithofacies palaeogeography map using the long term base level cycles as the mapping unit. Based on the high resolution sequence stratigraphy analysis and sequence division, combined with sedimentary cores, logging data, analysis results of the advantage sedimentary facies and subfacies and microfacies, compiled 9 long-term base level cycle lithofacies paleogeographic map.4. In the study area, according to the influencing factors of coal accumulation (ancient climate, ancient plants, paleogeographic and paleotectonic etc.), basic characteristics of coal quality, coal accumulating environment and high resolution sequence stratigraphy, Summary up the regularities of distribution of coal in sequence stratigraphic framework of super long term cycle, long term cycle and medium term cycle. and the coal accumulation law is studied.
