The original soil of lunar can be sampled by the drilling method. The sample is positive crucial to scientific research of lunar. To obtain high coring rate with low power consumption, the coring drill would face the low gravity, high vacuum, large temperature difference of lunar environment effection. Therefore, the coring drill design and tests are paramount theory and valuable to engineering application. With the research background of coring drilling development of moon mission third phase, the text had accomplished the researchful task hereinafter.Study on the characteristic parameters of lunar soil and the preparation method of drilling tests soil. To develop the correspondence model of the cohesion, inner friction angle and density, the lunar soil characteristic are comparative analysed based on the literature. With the objects of the mechanical equivalent and the parameters scope coverage equivalent, the preparation method of lunar soil is proposed for drilling. The method provide the standardization of laboratory samples for the drilling tests and coring tests of coring drill.The structure research of barrier function coring bit. Based on the elastoplastic model of lunar soil, the cutting power consumption model of the cutter is proposed. To explicate the consumption change with the depth of coring bit, the drilling power consumption of the coring bit is divided into cutting and body friction consumption, and the correctness of theory analysis is tested. The affect model between barrier ring and soil sample is proposed. The structure parameters of barrier ring which effect the original state of sample are analysed. The rationality and superiority of the structure and the function parameters of coring bit are verified by tests and simulation.The structure research of double spiral auger. The models of transportion soil capacity and transportion power consumption are proposed. The spiral angle, groove width ratio and groove height are optimial designed. With the mechanical boundary conditions of flying phase and working on the moon, the intensity and the rigidity of auger are checked. To verify the structure design rationality of double spiral auger, the comparison augers are manufactured.The adaptability research of the coring drill on multiple working conditions. According to the diversity and randomness of lunar soil particles size distribution of landing area, considering the sensitive size of coring drill structure parameters, the small scale, critical scale and large scale lunar simulation soil are prepared to be tested. The evaluation criterias of comprehensive properties of coring drill are developed. The drilling adaptability evaluation criterias of coring drill are obtained by comparison tests.
