Studies On Hmong Costume In Jingzhoun Hunan Province

The Hmong nationality is an ethnic group, where people have an ardor for beauty, passion for love and pursuit of living together in harmony. The culture of the Hmong nationality boasts of long history and profound meaning. Researches of different disciplines focus on varied aspects of Hmong culture. The present studies are mainly centering around origin of the Hmong nationality, definition and the distribution of the nationality, language, local customs and practices, reconciliation to modern society, multinational emigration and there are also many researches on its costumes. Researches on costume culture of the Hmong nationality are mainly limited to the overview and the branch classification, but seldom probe into the systematic discussion about that of certain Hmong branch. Based on the current study situation, the author attempts to make a research on the costume culture of Hmong branches.The thesis takes Hmong branch as the research object. It is a branch of the Hmong Nationality in Jing Zhou Hmong and Dong autonomous county, HuNan province. A field research is made through analyzing on historical data and ethnography in Sun Hmong villiage, where Hmong people gather, and the nearby areas where the Hmong and the Dong people gather. Thus the research reviews and discusses the costume culture of Jing Zhou Hmong regarding its historical origin, remains, costume type, culture characteristics, decoration craft, aesthetic value, and its features changes in tourism development. It helps the overall-opening up Jing Zhou Hmong costume present clearly under the rapidly developing economy environment. The record description and analytical thinking of the thesis are carried through the following aspects.Benefiting from on the convenient transportation and the beautiful natural environment, the economy of Jingzhou County has developed quickly. At the same time, as the Local government has positively declared the national non-material cultural heritage and explored their own development road, the clothing characteristics of the Hmong has gradually been known to the others in the publicizing of their ethnic culture. However, faced with the impact of the modern civilization and the economic development, the costume culture of the Hmong nationality has undergone two transformations:the initiative evolution and the passive evolution, which have given great challenges to its inheritance and protection. The paper attempts to give an objective analysis of the law of development of things from the perspective of the clothing culture development, thus provide the references for the important topic of the transformation in the clothing culture.At present, the tourist attractions of many nationalities begin to unearth the nutrition from their history, tradition and customs, which has provided the cultural power for the development of the local economy. Studying on the material, the construction, the color, and the decoration of the Hmong Costume in Jingzhou County, the author gives a conclusion on the clothing culture under the influence of the local culture, where people are open-minded and optimistic, and analyzes in detail the Hmong Costume’s enlightenment to tourist culture industry, which give a comprehensive theoretical support to realize the intense sympathy and distinguish the clothing of other ethnic, and is also helpful to reveal the unique cultural value of the Hmong Costume to the readers.Due to the inevitable trend of the change between the culture of the Hmong Costume and the traditional aesthetic, the Minorities have abandoned their own traditional art when they follow pursue the modernization. Based on the massive investigation in the filed, the author illustrates and gives a record on the local costume art so as to offer rich and objective documents for people in the costume design who are willing to regain the tradition, and gives her own opinion on the research that the culture value of Ethnic Minorities Costumes has transformed into economic value and pushed the development of Ethnic Minorities Costumes.
