The surrounding rock stability control of the gob-side entry driving in the extra-thick coal seam is the focal point question of rock mechanics and mining academic at home and abroad. With the engineering background of Rujigou Coal Mine of Ningxia Shenhua Coal Group Company, this paper carry out systematical research in extra-thick coal seam compound mining along goaf roadway deformation instability mechanism and control countermeasures of Taixi Coal. It has a significance for extra-thick coal seam to reduce coal loss and the cost of roadway support,enhance economic efficiency and ensure mine production safety. It also has certain reference significance and practical value for extra-thick seam security exploitation of Rujigou Coal Mine area and central and western China.With the guidance "practical mine pressure control theory", This article integrated applies rock mechanics, mining science, soft rock engineering mechanics, material mechanics, engineering geology science theory and so on, adopts combining research method of theoretical analysis, indoor experiment, numerical simulation and field test, established the "structure mechanics model" of the overlying strata rock movement of the extra-thick coal seam and the support pressure distribution rule of the mine,and confirmed the relevant parameter, through the research route of theoretical study, numerical simulation computation, field observation and various other methods, proclaim the space-time regular pattern of the side direction stress distribution in the gob-side entry retaining,as well as the inside and outside stress field, peak, the paper established the elastic-plastic soften model, and determined the optimum position, time and rational space of the gob-side entry driving with small pillars under the inner stress field. It obtained a major consequence that small pillars were used to seclude the gob area primarily and support as auxiliary under the range of the inner stress field. It also revealed the instability and stability mechanism of the gob-side entry driving in the extra-thick coal seam in the different time and space high seam, and put forward corresponding control measures. As an consequence it could provide an important scientific basis for the coal pillar set for the mining work face area of the extra-thick coal seam, the technology of the overlaying strata technology, the reasonable parameters for the stope decorate and the determination of a safe normal continuous project.
