Nano-MgO is a kind of inorganic functional materials with special performance, whose application is very extensive. At present, there are many methods of preparation nano-MgO. However, no one is perfect. And the present methods are difficult to apply for mass production. Under this condition, this paper reports a new type method to prepare nano-MgO, i.e., the N2 protective pressurization method. A series of nano-MgO products with different morphology were prepared by this novel method. The process conditions and large-scale experiments of this new method were studied. The comprehensive tests have been carried on the characteristics of nano-MgO products. In addition, this paper also reports the formation processes of preparation nano-MgO products of specific morphologies by the directional guide innovatively. The micro structures of nano-MgO products with different morphologies were also speculated.In this paper, the nano-MgO products of good dispersibilities, smaller mean particle sizes and narrow particle size distributions were prepared successfully by the N2 protective pressurization method. At the same time, the optimum conditions for preparation of nano-MgO by this new method were determined. These products belong to the cubic crystal system. Based on the analysis and the tests, the micro structures of nano-MgO products prepared by the novel method were deduced. The characteristic laws of nano-MgO products and precursors were studied by changing in process parameters.The superiority of N2 protective pressurization method on the preparation of nano-MgO was studied in this paper. Comprehensive comparisons on characteristics among the precursors and nano-MgO products were done. It is shown that the features of precursors and nano-MgO products prepaed by this novel method were superior to those prepared by normal pressure method. Large-scale experiments were also carried out. Comprehensive comparisons on purities and yields of precursors and nano-MgO products prepaed by novel method and normal pressure method were made. It is shown that the precursors and nano-MgO products prepaed by novel method were superior to these prepared by normal pressure method in many ways. At the same time, it is proved that it has repeatabilityhe, reliability and the application of this novel method for the preparation of nano-MgO products through the above studies.The formation processes of nano-MgO products of specific morphologies were studied by the directional guide innovatively in this paper. For nano-MgO particles, based on the impact of process parameters of N2 protective pressurization method, the nano-MgO of sheets and laminations were prepared by the directional guide. It is revealed the impact on the the formation process of nano-MgO by changing the amount of additives and calcination time. For the MgO nanofilm products, an improved sol-gel method was adopted in this paper. The comprehensive research of the formation process of MgO nanofilm on aluminum alloy substrate was done. The analysis of the forming process of MgO nanofilm was made, which revealed that the film covered with particles to form a dense membrane. In the meantime, the micro structure of the MgO nanofilm was also proposed.
