Molecule material have many advantages of “small, light, flexible”, which made them a wide range of applications such as superdense memory, quantum computing,fiber-optic communication, luminescence probes for bio-analysis and medical imaging,time-resolved fluoroimmunoassay, light emitting diodes. Lanthanide complex is an important molecule material. β-diketone is ketone and enol interconversion deriving rich structural and not only able to sensitize the luminescence of lanthanide complexes,but also afford single molecule magnets(SMMs).The reactions of EIFD, DBM and lanthanide chloride afford four series of 26 new complexes. The crystal structures have been determined and the IR, UV, TG-DSC and XRD patterns were tested. For EIFD ligand, the M-T plot indicate the Dy(III)complexes are all antiferromagnetic and the M-H plot indicate significant magnetic anisotropy. Dynamics alternating-current(ac) magnetic susceptibilities for complexes were conducted under zero dc field in the frequency range 1-1000 Hz and temperature range 2.0-12 K. Complex 5 display slow magnetic relaxation and suppress the quantum tunneling of magnetization(QTM) which universally existed in the lanthanide complexes. On the bais of complex 5, adding different oxygen and nitron auxiliary ligands, complexes 7-12 and 13-16 all field-induce SMMs. The correlations between structure and magnetism have been discussed. For DBM ligand, the M-T and M-H plots indicate the complexes 21-24 are antiferromagnetic and significant magnetic anisotropy, repectively. They are field-induce SMMs. Complex 23 shown the phenomenon of sinlge nuclear with two relaxation modes in the β-diketone lanthanide complexes. The ligand EIFD can sensitize lanthanide and the luminescence intensity and life time of complexes 1 and 2, 17-20 can been improve by the auxiliary ligands...
