The conventional refrigerator compressor is the reciprocating piston compressor driven by rotary motor with crank-shaft mechanism. Its efficiency is low due to existing middle transforming mechanism. In order to improving the efficiency of compressor, the novel linear compressor is developed, which is directly driven by permanent magnet linear oscillatory actuator. Now, its application is becoming more and more popular in refrigeration compressors. This dissertation is supported by a grant from the Ph.D. Programs Foundation of Ministry of Education of China. And in order to develop a novel compressor with high-efficiency and energy-saving, the research theme of this dissertation is this kind moving magnet linear compressor system and its permanent magnet linear oscillatory actuator.Based on the available experiment situations in Lab and detailed investigation of the linear oscillatory actuator and its operating characteristics, a novel transverse-flux linear compressor is proposed and in-depth study is also given. The main study works are follows:1. Based on detailed investigation of the transverse-flux linear oscillatory actuator, the linear electro-mechanical system model was established. The effect of gas force load and operating frequency on the operating characteristics was analyzed. In combination with simulated analysis and vector model, the effect was further studied, and the predicted analysis was validated by corresponding experimental results.2. An estimation method of mover position was present, and the top dead point control of linear compressor was also achieved with the mover equilibrium position offset compensation. Based on in-depth study on the operating characteristics, the resonant frequency tracking strategy was compared and analyzed. Finally, a novel strategy of high efficiency control was achieved in combination with estimation method of mover displacement.3. Based on the improvement of the available transverse-flux permanent magnet linear oscillatory actuator, a novel transverse-flux linear compressor was proposed. Based on 3D finite element model established by ANSOFT, the air-gap magnetic field and the characteristics of electromagnetic force were calculated, and then the effect of key parameters on performance of actuator was also investigated. The predicted results are validated by prototype experiments of no-load test and load test. The experiment results could help further study on the novel transverse-flux linear compressor.
