Distribution of a large number of coral debris in China’s South China Sea islands, under the premise does not destroy the local natural environment, local materials, the distribution of coral reefs on the debris as coarse aggregate, the preparation of coral concrete, is extremely important to this island military and civilian construction projects. Not only can shorten the construction period, and can save land resources.In this paper, based on the basis of domestic and foreign ordinary concrete and lightweight aggregate concrete in the status quo, for the coral concrete aggregate characteristics, mechanical properties, physical and chemical characteristics were studied. Systematic analysis of the coral aggregate macro-and micro-shape features, as well as the properties of concrete. Comprehensive study of various mechanical indexes of coral concrete, affect the durability of the bending fatigue life characteristics were explored, The main findings are as follows:1. The use of digital image technology, access to the shape of the characteristic parameters of the coral particles, analysis of these characteristic parameters. The gray correlation method study the relationship between the shape of the characteristic parameters of coral concrete and cube compressive strength, splitting tensile strength. Through digital images of microscopic pore characteristics of the coral particles to analyze its water back to the water characteristics, chemical composition using X-ray diffraction analysis of the coral particles, coral aggregate is mainly composed of CaCO3, with stable chemical properties, with the ordinary concrete aggregate components of the same.2. Coral aggregate concrete cube compressive strength, axial compressive strength, static modulus of elasticity and splitting tensile strength test, the establishment of a cube compressive strength and axial compressive strength, static modulus of elasticity and splitting tensile strength of the regression model. Age and the cube compressive strength of relationships found in the development of conservation early, coral concrete strength development is faster than ordinary concrete strength, about50%. But over time, the development of coral concrete strength gradually slow down. And coral concrete mechanical properties were compared with normal concrete.3. The probability distribution of the bending fatigue life of the coral concrete results show that coral aggregate concrete beam specimens bending fatigue life of the Weibull probability distribution, consider the failure probability of double logarithm fatigue equation and single the number of fatigue equation. Contrast coral concrete with various types of concrete fatigue equation and found that the strength of fatigue life under the same stress level as follows:steel fiber reinforced Concrete>Coral concrete> renewable concrete>ordinary concrete.4. Using microhardness testing techniques, and comprehensive analysis of the hardness values of the different position of the coral concrete aggregate interfacial transition zone, and were compared with the microhardness values of the same parts of the plain concrete, the microhardness and relative compressive strength the correlation between microhardness mean relative compressive strength of the regression equation.
