Transmission contrl unit (TCU) is the key development part of automatedtransmission. Being short of mauture technology on TCU hardware and software, thedomestic development of automated transmission is constrained at a large extend. Forindustrialization of TCU as soon as possible, this dissertation did an in-depth researchon hardware design, software design and comprehensive testing of TCU for mainlyautomated manual transmission and dual-clutch transmission.Through a study on the design process and design method of TCU, this dissertationestablished a set of industrial-oriented development system for TCU hardware. Thedesign process consists of five phases: requirement analysis, principle scheme design,circuit design, thermal design and PCB design. Each phase is established with a relevantdocumentation, to make the whole design process clarity and can be traced. Throughin-depth theoretical study, a safty and signal integrity based method is proposed fordesign of TCU circuit and PCB. This method uses theory as a guide, and simulation asverification. Based on this method and through circuit design, two goals can beachieved, one is the accurate measurement and fast fault detecction of system input,another is the precise drive and fault tolerance protection of system output.Based on the established development system, a TCU hardware platform withcertain versatility is developed for test of AMT and DCT.In order to achieve co-development and enhance the efficiency, TCU software isdivided into two independent parts: underlying driver software and upper controlsoftware. A real time operation system named EPATOS which is compatible withOSEK/VDX standard is developed. Based on EPATOS, the real-time control functionsof TCU are guaranteed to improve the control quality. Also, through code design, thehardware drivers, troubleshooting and fault tolerant function, on-line programming,on-line monitoring and calibration and other functions are implemented in theunderlying software, and thus forms the TCU underlying software platform to reducethe burden of upper control software design at a maximum.Through a study on the hardware-in-the-loop simulation methods of TCU, a TCUrapid testing method based on embedded system is proposed. By establishing themathematical models of vehicle parts and implementing the models into a microprocessor, a TCU rapid test and simulation platform is developed. The proposedrapid testing method of TCU is verified by the co-simulation of the test platform andTCU.Finally, this dissertation made a study on the industrization of TCU. Based on theresearch achievement of TCU hardware platform, TCU underlying software platformand TCU rapid test platform, an industry oriented TCU development platform is built.Also, an automatic examination method for TCU product is proposed. All of these madethe TCU industrialization fully prepared.
