This paper focuses on the calibration, spectral image conversion and datacompression techniques of the Fourier transform imaging spectrometer. The maincontents are as following:1. The author introduces the development of the imaging spectrometry of the worldand summarizes the application of imaging spectrometry;2. He introduces the basic theory of the Fourier transform imaging spectrometry andgives a detailed introduction to three types of Fourier transform imagingspectrometers classified by their modulating mode;3. He studies the calibration according to the characteristics of the Fourier transformimaging spectrometry combining with the environment and disaster monitoringand forecasting of small satellite hyperspectral imager and gives a method that canachieve the calibration on board;4. The author gives a method for interferogram data conversion according to thecharacteristics of the Fourier transform imaging spectrometry combining with theenvironment and disaster monitoring and forecasting of small satellitehyperspectral imager. The data that got by using this method has showed goodresult;5. The author gives a method for interferogram data compression according to thecharacteristics of the Fourier transform imaging spectrometry combining with theenvironment and disaster monitoring and forecasting of small satellitehyperspectral imager. The method has been used and has got a good result;The main innovations of this paper are as following:1. The author analyses the theory of calibration of the spatial modulationFourier transform imaging spectrometer and the main types of calibration and theireffect. He also gives a method of calibration for the environment and disaster monitoring and forecasting of small satellite hyperspectral imager. The author haspublished a paper and applied an invention patent;2. The author gives a method of interferogram data conversion and makes itinto a piece of software by analyzing the theory of Fourier transform imagingspectrometer. This software has been used in CE-1imaging spectrometer and also hasused in the environment and disaster monitoring and forecasting of small satellitehyperspectromter and both showed good result. He has published a paper, received anational invention patent and two computer software copyrights;3. He gives a method of data compression by analyzing the characteristics ofthe data of the Fourier transform imaging spectrometer. It has been used already andthe author has published a paper and received a national invention patent;...
