Natural Landscape Urban Design Concept-Guilin

Along with the urbanized development, great damage is brought into the nature. The relationship between human being and the nature is getting worse and worse. Growth of Chinese city is always at the cost of sacrificing the environment. Economic construction and environment protection is always intertwined in the dilemma. Most of the cities are working out their ambitious development plans, which seriously affect the urban spatial structure and leave only embarrassing position of unthinkingly uniformity to the urban design. Therefore, this subject is to study the Chinese traditional philosophical concept of urban construction to put forward the concept of "Natural landscape urban design" and its main idea of "tracing the source, restoring the nature", and specific design methods and principles as well at the same time. Hopefully, we can find out a new way for the urban design development through this concept. It guides us to make out the coordinated development between urban design and natural landscape and fully utilize the advantages of the beautiful natural landscape, finally to create a natural landscape city with the characteristics of the local ecological environment.We select "top Landscape " Guilin as a case in this article and trace the history of its original image, then use this design concept bringing out useful suggestions to help us establish the unique,"nature landscape city" oriented concept for Guilin construction.This article is organized as follows:The prologue dwells on the background, purpose and significance of the research. It also summarizes the previous relevant experience of research in this field to provide the theoretical basis. Finally at the end of this part provides a theoretical basis, guide direction and frame for research.Chapter one is the construction of the natural landscape urban design concept, which states out the core idea of "tracing the source, maintaining the nature". We work out the natural landscape urban concept and principle through the study of Chinese traditional philosophical concept of urban construction.First part in chapter two is to trace the history development of Guilin, and then, analyze the current conditions and the reasons for its fading characteristics of Guilin, and from which, we can clearly understand the real sources and origins of this city. Second part is to restore the style and features of Guilin by using "maintaining the nature" concept, and we can reasonably planning the city base on the previous research and concept.The design concept of natural landscape city is different from those traditional ones. It is not only established on the basis of minimum damage and sustainable development to the nature, but also a trial implementation for improving the environment and portrait of the city. Meanwhile,it leads human being not only to regards the economic development and living level improvement as importance, but lay emphasis on its essence and culture development, which helps to establish a harmonious relationship between the city and nature.
