With the development of infrared focal plane array, the infrared imagingguidance, which has the characteristic of working all day and strong anti-interferencecapability, has become a widely used means of guiding surface to-air missile. Thespherical surface of traditional missile is the major factor of restricting theaerodynamic performance with the increasing motor vehicle performance, and thatlimit the advantages of infrared imaging guidance. However, the dynamicaberrations are introduced, that is difficult to calibrate, due to the ellipsoid typeasymmetry in the respective sub-field of view of the seeker. The conformal fairingstructure with streamlined have become the focus at home and abroad and theaberration correction become an urgent problem.In this paper, based on the theory of conformal optical, the geometric features ofthe ellipsoidal fairing is analyzed start from the reason of dynamic aberration. Thecharacteristics of optical aberrations are analyzed by combining the theory ofgeometric aberrations and wave aberration with the evaluation methods of Zernikepolynomial. The modeling of multiple configurations and the reading of aberrationboth are achieved automatically in the conformal optical system, by the interfaceprogram complied between matlab and zemax. The stop position where caneliminate astigmatism of quadratic surfaces is derived, the relationship between thenode position and the range of dynamic aberration is obtained. It discussed the conditions of eliminating aberrations corresponding to each case and the influence toaberrations about the stop moving, through the primary monochromatic aberrationtheory. Several an-aberration structures that are under special circumstances areproposed, the feasibility of correcting aberration by the diffraction plane is discussedand verified via the instance.It proposes a scheme for correcting dynamic aberration using a fixed calibrationplate combined with the cylindrical lens that can move along with axial. Theastigmatic aberration is only related to the position of cylindrical lens, which cancontrol simple and reliable. As merit function in the optimization, Zernikepolynomial coefficients are read directly by Zemax macro compiled, that acceleratethe convergence speed of merit function. Actual seeker structure is established toverify the above theory, and the results indicate that actual image quality meets therequirement of seeker imaging. The design of infrared seeker imaging is discussed inthis paper, and the practical issues are point out with detailed analysis, it provides awidely reference to the similar system design. The test method to the shape of conicsurface of the conformal fairing is given in the end.
