Taking the common granite in the engineering practice as the research object, this paper repeats impact test study on the rock using SHPB device. Choosing fourdifferent length bullet of400mm,600mm,800mm and1000mm,it impacts onthe rock specimens with different speed and researches the relationship between thestress wave parameters and rock damage characteristics from the strain wave, failuremodes, the measured constitutive relation curves and so on.It is concluded that theevolution process of the dynamic response parameters of granite mostly followspower-law distribution form according to the experimental results. The dynamicparameters obey the same power-law distribution when damage D is less than0.2,showing the exponential function form with amplitude as variable. The wavelengthhas significant increasing effect on the dynamic parameters of the rock whendamage D is greater than0.2. And the rock will soon fails when the granite damageD is0.73.The rock evolution model=f(ε,,λ), is set up with full considerationof the rock status and stress potter and it is thought that the effect of wavelength Bon damage evolution is mirrored by the rock strain rate. Based on the series impacttests of limestone and sandstone, the applicability of the damage relation andevolution model is tested.
