The interior design of passenger trains is a significant aspect of improving the quality of service in rail transportation. Now, the interior design still focuses on the improvement of function and structure. There is much room for improvement on psychological experience and the comfort of passengers. This study focuses on the method of interior design combining qualitative and quantitative analysis by refining the main imaging factor of visual comfort and the relationship between the modeling elements and the visual image.On the basis of literature review, this work summarizes the theoreutical background and research status related to visual image involved with theory background and research status and summarizes the basic space of interior trains and the structure of facilities. From different perspectives induct and conclude the main point of image and modeling perception, thus, it provides theoretical basis of study interior modeling on the basic of visual image.The behavior of visual image is concluded from three different levels(abstract form, arouse recall, visual impact). It explains the main process of conveying visual image and the cognitive conditions of interior modeling. Conduct the impact of space environment to visual image. Moreover, analyzing the basic demand of passengers and then putting forward the demand of visual comfort is also one of the significant criteria, for user and environment, product of interaction, in product design. From design subject view, contrasting the study of qualitative with quantitative and concluding the difference between trains modeling and ordinary product modeling. Furthermore, putting forward hypothesis based on user visual image, laying the foundation for empirical study.Selecting descriptive words of visual image and analyze those relevant meaning of modeling. On the basic of summarizing experimental data of visual image, it refines the correlation between main image factor and the mathematical relationship of visual comfort, builds the model of visual image for visual comfort, it explains the correlation between main image factor and the mental demand of passengers. Dividing visual image elements of interior into four forms. Through the sample of summarizing experimental data of interior picture, conducting different interior facility project and the influencing trend on form characteristic category.Through crossing matched interior modeling elements, acquiring three projects, seven categories and forty-eight feature categories. On basic of it, from four different views make experiment, to verify the difference of different positions of visual image. Through dummy variable to build the correlation between qualitative dummy and quantitative dummy, and also summarizing experimental data and applying quantification I theory, it obtains more comprehensive and accurate facility project and the influence of modeling category to visual image and the regression equations between four positions of visual comfort and main image factor. Through setting limit value and center subdivision to enhance the efficiency of manufacturing model sample, it obtains the influence of main image factor change to visual comfort. Combining the impact of space environment to modeling cognition, it concludes the impact of adjust computerization to visual image.
