With the rapid development of the national economy, road transportation inChina has ushered into a new period of vigorous development, with the roadpassenger transport quantity and turnover a continuous rise year on year. Roadpassenger transportation, while providing people with great convenience in theirproduction and life, also causes severe traffic security problems, leading to massivecasualties and property losses. According to the research and analysis on operatingpassenger vehicles’ traffic accidents, vehicle rollover and collision are two mostcommon ones, and the structure features of those vehicles are the primary cause offrequent rollover.Therefore, this paper aims to: analyze the cause of vehicle rollover and itsdynamic characteristics; conduct the dynamic analysis on a complete vehicle from thedynamic modeling perspective and conduct the dynamic characteristics analysis;inspecting the model and analysis through the experimental statistics of a completevehicle, we put forward a control strategy on the roll stability of a new type of vehicleas the basis of the improvement of roll stability. Finally, establish a vehicle handlingstability data management platform. The main contents of the paper are as follows:(1)structural characteristics of vehicles was analyzed in detail to determine thatloss of yaw stability and loss of roll stability are two most frequently happeneddangers of vehicles in the process of moving; based on this, we built the motioncoordinate system, analyzed the impact of internal and external force in the process oftranslation and rotation; on these grounds, a liner vehicle dynamic model, steeringangle and running velocity for the input, side slip angle, yaw rate, roll angle, front andback axle sunsprung mass roll angle as the degree of freedom, was structured.(2)In order to test the validity and availability of the established vehicledynamic model, we utilized VBOX, RLVB IMU02, HCZ-1, adopted RLVB ADC03and computers to build a vehicle roll stability test system; with a reference to relativenational standards, we designed a vehicle roll stability double lane-change test and aserpentine test, in both of which a test on roll stability under various speeds wascarried out. With the comparison of vehicle test result and simulation result under thesame condition, we have verified the validity of vehicle dynamic models andsimulation parameters. (3)In order to improve roll stability of bus and reduce the risk of rolloveraccident, we analysis the principle of controlling the roll stability of bus, set up thedynamic bus model with roll control torque of front axle and rear axle to ensuremetastasis rate of transverse load of front axle and rear axle as indicators of rollstability.Additionally, linear quadratic optimal control can be utilized to design rollcontroller suppressing the interference. Based on this, we utilize Simulink to establishthe simulation model of active roll control and research the effectiveness of controllerin a simulation way. The results indicate that linear quadratic optimal controller cancontrol metastasis rate of transverse load of front axle and rear axle effectively toachieve the purpose of improving roll stability.(4)In order to administer the simulation and test data effectively and easy toanalysis and evaluate driving stability among different vehicles. The paper hasestablished data management platform of handling stability of bus, which is able toenhance the value of testing data. Not only can this platform store and manage thebasic data of vehicle,simulation parameters and testing data under different testingconditions, but also it can analysis and evaluate handling stability of vehicles. Thisplatform use MATLAB to exploit visualization operation interface and utilize SQLserver2000as database. What is more, it is through ODBC to have access to thedatabase from graphical user interface. The aim of designing this platform is to dealwith vehicle detection data, emulate vehicle performance, evaluate handling stability,manage basic data, import the external data and export the internal data etc.
