For medium-small span bridges, the main function of bridge deck pavement is to protect the girder, that is, to avoid the traffic load directly to abrase the carriageway slab and to prevent moisture into the bridge deck. At the same time, it is inevitable to participate in the force of girder and to share the load for the girder. Due to the complexity of deck pavement structure and the poor conditions of use, there are often disease on deck pavement, and the forms of disease have obvious geographical characteristics. In China, there are lots of medium-small span concrete bridges and it need to investing a lot even if simple maintenance, therefore, it is necessary to carry out research on deck pavement for medium-small span bridges. Its significance is mainly reflected in two aspects: on the one hand, how to avoid or reduce the disease of deck pavement under the poor conditions of use, on the other hand, due to the low height and small stiffness of medium-small span bridges, the bridge deck pavement share more load for the girder, so it is important to consider the influence of deck pavement and calculate the mechanical characteristics of the girder for bridge detection.In order to avoid or reduce the disease of deck pavement, lots of research has been carried out on the structural form, material and mechanical characteristics of deck pavement. Due to the bond performance of cement concrete pavement and bridge deck better than that of asphalt concrete pavement and cement concrete pavement, the latter is the common concern for people and the former is often ignored. The related research indicates that there will be sliding on the interface and even shear failure under the repeat effect of vehicle and temperature loading and so on.The present research is relatively few on the analysis of the mechanical characteristics of girder considering the influence of bridge deck pavement. Actually the contact between the cement concrete pavement and bridge deck is not fully binding and also not entirely non-binding, their contact state directly affects the effect of deck pavement in the force of girder. For the detection of medium-small span concrete bridges, if not have the contact state between layers quantitatively and consider the influence of deck pavement accurately, there will be a big difference between test value and theoretical calculation of girder mechanical properties so that the evaluation results for bridge condition are not accurate enough. Through existing literatures, it was not found the calculation method of force characteristics of girder based on quantitative expression of contact state between layers and considering bridge deck pavement.This paper, based on the project of Jilin province science and technology key project “Research and product development of the green ecological materials for the bridge deck pavement in seasonal frozen area” and The western traffic construction technology projects of Ministry of transport of China “Technical research on rapid maintenance and safety protection of highway in response to extreme climate in seasonal frozen area”, carried out the research on structural form of bridge deck pavement and mechanical characteristics of girder considering the influence of deck pavement for medium-small span bridges in seasonal frozen area.To improve the bonding properties between layers as a starting point, this paper proposed a bridge deck pavement suitable for medium-small span bridges in seasonal frozen area. The biggest point of the structure that it is to increase the groove on bridge deck based on the original steel connection to improve the bonding properties between cement concrete pavement and bridge deck.The adhesive property of waterproof adhesive layer under different conditions was tested by using a self-designed test device and its temperature sensitivity was analyzed. By designing 22 groups of shear specimens between cement concrete pavement and bridge deck of different reinforcement ratio, different groove spacing and carved slot size and so on, the shear properties were tested and the influence of parameters on the shear performance was analyzed. Using shear stiffness to characterize the interlayer adhesion properties, the empirical formula of shear strength and shear stiffness between cement concrete pavement and bridge deck is given.In order to accurately calculate force state of girder considering bridge deck pavement, the shear stiffness is adopted to reflect the contact state between layers and a method for analyzing the static characteristics of single beam considering deck pavement is developed. Furthermore, based on the improvement of rigid connection beam method, the calculation method of transverse distribution coefficient of bridge considering bridge deck bridge is established, and this method was applied to the practical engineering of a 30 m span simply supported T beam bridge.Vehicle action will affect the bridge dynamic characteristics, and the bridge deck pavement will also do. It is of great significance to analyze the dynamic characteristics of girder under the influence of vehicle and bridge deck pavement for the detection and monitoring of bridge. Based on the shear stiffness between cement concrete pavement and bridge deck, this paper formed a calculation method of the dynamic characteristics of girder considering bridge deck pavement under vehicle load.
