After mankind controlled basically threatening the infectious disease threatening mankind’s health through chemistry, immunity, the antibiotic therapy, malignant tumor has already become the leading cause that threatens mankind’s health. Statistics according to the related data, malignant tumor becomes main cause of death. Current, Radiation treatment planning system is one of three main treatment means, and another means are the surgical operation treatment and chemistry treatment. The statistics express that about have 50%-70% tumor sufferer needs to radiotherapy. Radiation treatment planning system is computer software system including its associated peripherals, which is used to simulate the application of radiation to a patient for a proposed radiotherapy treatment. It usually, but not necessarily, provides estimations of absorbed dose distribution in human tissue using a particular algorithm Radiation treatment planning system is a core component of radiotherapy.This dissertation studies the whole software system and the core technique of radiation treatment plan system. The main work and innovation is as follows.(1) Radiation treatment planning system is a technology intensive complex software product, and it is the medical device product at the same time. According to medical device and software characteristics of radiation treatment planning system, this dissertation built up the life cycle model of management suit for radiation treatment planning system development, and according to function and the safety request of system, this dissertation presented the total design project of the system.(2) The accuracy and speed of dose calculation is one of the important criterions to evaluate radiation treatment planning system. Dose calculation mainly includes photon beam and electron beam. For photon beam dose calculation, this dissertation mainly concentrates on the most accurate model used on clinic that is convolution superposition model based on the point kernel. The model’s basic theory and the algorithms of hardening correction and tilting correction used in the model were also discussed. The information of phase space is indispensable to the dose calculation, so a series of models were introduced to gain it, with more attention on the primary energy fluence model of the accelerator with bad symmetry, and two resolutions combining the multiplication principle and the measured data were proposed here.(3) For electron beam dose calculation, this dissertation studies physical parameters in electron beam calculation algorithm based on Hogstrom pencil-beam; analyzes basic principle of physical parameter; gives computing methods of parameter on clinic condition, and verifies feasibility on clinical and efficiency.(4) More perfect quality assurance and quality control procedures are important condition that radiation treatment planning system can be safely applied on the clinic. The radiotherapy team consists of radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists and radiation therapy technologists:all professionals characterized by widely differing educational backgrounds,, so the human factor is very important for quality assurance and quality control of radiation treatment panning system quality control. For facility of users and operating safety of system, RTPS should manage privilege of users. This dissertation analyzes the role-based access control (RBAC) model, and integrating development practices of radiation treatment planning system and clinic condition of radiology treatment, gives application and implementation process of RBAC in radiation treatment planning system. For non-technique factor of radiation treatment planning system quality assure and quality control, namely human factor, this dissertation reviews radiotherapy accidental exposure, and gives basic methods how to apply human factor in developing radiation treatment planning system.(5) The State Food and Drug Administration requires that radiation treatment planning system shall be inspected by authorized institution and verified by qualified clinic verification hospital prior to entering market. At present, the State Food and Drug Administration just makes basic principle to register radiation treatment planning system, and has no concrete registration standard and guideline documents. Combining the product characteristics and clinical actual circumstances of radiation treatment plan systems, this dissertation presents the feasible program of inspection and clinical verification of radiation treatment planning system, and develops a dose comparing software for clinical verification.
