The Life-preserving Concepts And Scientific Development Of Chinese Medicated Bath

ObjectiveThe main focus of this thesis is Chinese medicated bathing. This thesis is based on the systematically arranged historical documents of the life-preservation and disease treatment in Chinese medicated bathing, as a foundation and reference to the study Chinese medicated bathing, in terms of its future scientific development.Methods①The literature research method:Ancient and modern literature related to Chinese medicated bathing is founded through TCM ancient books and modern databases.②Data gathering and summarization method:It is a method that gathers and summarizes data from all ancient and modern literature of Chinese medicated bathing, in order to perceive Chinese medicated bathing from multiple perspectives.③Survey method:Conducting a survey in Hong Kong as a way to explore Hong Kong people’s understanding and preference for Chinese medicated bathing.ResultsBy using the methods as stated above, the result of this thesis can be organized and divided into6:①the different types of Chinese medicated bathing;②the theory behind Chinese medicated bathing;③the curing effect of Chinese medicated bathing;④the history of Chinese medicated bathing;⑤the history of Chinese medicated bathing in terms of different ethnic groups;⑥the Chinese medicated bathing survey in Hong Kong,150collected,132valid. The analyzed result of the survey states that Chinese medicated bathing is best recognized in dermatology, beauty and health, and pediatrics.ConclusionFrom the survey, although Chinese medicated baths in Hong Kong is best known in the fields of dermatology, beauty and health, and pediatrics, it is still not widely recognized in other clinical application; hence Chinese medicated baths still have space for improvement.As for the future of Chinese medicated baths, it is essential that Chinese medicated baths should advance with modern technology instead of abiding to its traditional methods, for a more efficient and high quality treatment to patients.In essence, support from the government, Chinese practitioners and patients are needed if the industry of Chinese medicated baths develops internationally. In addition, the equipment and facilities of Chinese medicated baths must be standardized, whilst qualification of the practitioners must be raised, in order for the industry of Chinese medicated baths to diversify scientifically.
