ObjectivesThe diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is commonly used in the intracranial tumors, stroke, multiple sclerosis and other diseases, while the DTI can not solve the crossing fibers and the tumor edema zone fibers. The high-definition fiber tracking can solve such problems with a better spatial resolution and diffusion sensitive gradient. We carry on the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the correlation between the tumors and surrounding fibers with HDFT, which provide a new diagnosis, treatment and prediction methods to the intracranial tumors patients.Methods1. We carry on the HDFT scan to normal subjects, reconstruct the MR signal with generalized Q-imaging methods, and perform the fiber tracking of the corticospinal tract and arcuate fascicle, then, we compare the quantitative anisotropy value of the corticospinal tract and arcuate fascicle between the left and right hemisphere.2. We carry on the HDFT scan to the intracranial tumor patients, reconstruct the MR signal with generalized Q-imaging methods, and perform the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the correlation between the tumor and corticospinal and arcuate fascicle.3. Reconstruct the MR signal whose b value ranges from100s/mm2to4000s/mm2, compare the fiber tracking of whole brain, crossing fibers and fibers around the tumor, and compare the quantative analysis between these fiber tracking reconstructed from different b values.Results1. The HDFT can reflect the quantitative anisotrope difference of the corticospinal tract and arcuate fascicle between the left and right side.2. The qualitative and quatitative analysis of the correlation between the tumors and surrounding fiber can be performed correctly by the HDFT, and the QA value change can reflect the clinical syptoms.3. The qualitative and quantitative analysis of the fiber tracking based on the b value ranged from100-4000s/mm2match to the fiber tracking base on the b value ranged from100-7000s/mm2Conclusion1. The fiber tracking around the intracranial tumors can be performed correctly by HDFT.2. The qualitative and quatitative analysis of the correlation between the tumors and surrounding fiber can be performed correctly by the HDFT.3. The optimization of the scan time in HDFT can be achieved by the adjustment of b value.
