Objective:The Compendium of Mater ia Medico is a great book with high academic value written by Li Shizhen in the Ming Dynasty. Based on existing research results of herbalism, it took him decades to learn and gather pharmacal knowledge, through clinical practice and intensively study, the book was finally accomplished. However, there’s no systematic research specifically on Chinese medicinal herbs that can promote blood circulation for removing blood stasis for the moment. This dissertation has collected materials of Chinese medicinal herbs mentioned above, including tropism of taste, indication of syndromes both in the past and present, efficiency and pharmaco, etc, meanwhile, established database and translated data into digital information that can be redeveloped through computer technology. This dissertation will discuss the characteristics and laws of applications of Chinese medicinal herbs that can promote blood circulation for removing blood stasis in Compendium of Materia Medica and generally understand their attributes from a brand new angle.Methods:Combing literature research with data mining, this dissertation is divided into three chapters as following summarized.In Chapter 1, Compendium of Materia Medica is sorted out using Chinese medicinal herbs that can promote blood circulation for removing blood stasis in the book as the main thread. Total nine aspects of each herb such as the origins, four properties, five tastes, channel tropism, toxicity, indication of syndromes in Compendium of Materia Medica, as well as efficiency, indication of syndromes in the contemporary literatures and pharmaco are systematically analyzed. In the meantime, the database has been established, which contains the function of query that Chinese medicinal herbs can promote blood circulation for removing blood stasis can be quickly retrieved through different aspects such as drug properties, indication of syndromes both in the past and present, efficiency and pharmaco, etc.In Chapter 2, with the help of the database, using data mining, drug properties, indication of syndromes, efficiency, pharmaco and other aspects are tapped. ① Using the arithmetic of frequency statistics, drug properties, indication of syndromes, efficiency, pharmaco and so on are counted up.② Using the arithmetic of association rules to acquire the incidence relation of efficiency and combinations of drug properties, as to find out their common regularity.③ Using the Bayesian Network Data Mining Technology to study the incidence relation between the effects on promoting blood circulation for removing blood stasis and pharmacological indexes, and gain the the Topology Map as well as conditional probability table.In Chapter 3, to analyze the results above so as to discuss the characteristics and laws of applications of Chinese medicinal herbs that can promote blood circulation for removing blood stasis in Compendium of Materia Medica.Conclusion:There are total 301 medicines recorded in Compendium of Materia Medica that can promote blood circulation for removing blood stasis,70.1% of which are herbal medicines. Their temperature characteristics are mostly warm or mild while taste properties are pungent or sweet and they mainly have effects on the channels of people’s livers, gallbladder, spleens and stomachs. Counting the indication of syndromes of these medicines above in Compendium of Materia Medica, the data shows they were mostly used for skin diseases, blood diseases, superficial infections and puerperal diseases. Counting the indication of syndromes of these medicines above in the contemporary literatures, the data shows they are mostly used for superficial infections, blood diseases, menopathy, etc. Counting up the efficiency of these medicines, the data shows the frequency of heat-clearing and detoxifying is the highest besides promoting blood circulation for removing blood stasis. The data counting the pharmacological actions shows these medicines have high correlations with antifungus, antivirus, antipyretic, analgesia, antiphlogosis, and effects on blood as well as hematopoietic system, etc.
