| Objective:By combining the bibliometrics and information visualization approaches, conduct statistic analysis of Chinese and foreign haemophilia research literature between 1965 and2014. And with a deep understanding of the status quo of haemophilia research at home and abroad, a rational thinking can be made about the difference between China and other countries in haemophilia nursing research, so as to identify the challenges China is faced with in haemophilia nursing research, and to provide a scientific basis for enhancing China’s scientific research level in the field of haemophilia.Data:The Web of Science ?(Wo S) Core Collection is selected as the source for data retrieval, and comparisons among these major countries are made in such fields as paper output, the time of paper outputting, researchers, research institutions, paper publishing periodicals, highly cited papers, involved subjects, research funds, research trends, and research frontiers. Based on the CNKI and Wanfang Data, metric analysis of domestic literature about haemophilia research in the last 50 years is made, in order to fully explore the overall situation of domestic haemophilia research.Methods:Literature analysis; Word Frequency Analysis; Citation Analysis; Cluster Analysis;Co-word Analysis; Information Visualization.Result:1. Bibliometrics analysis of haemophilia papers from domestic and foreignThe results show that a total of 10336 papers about haemophilia research were included in the Wo S database from 1965 to 2014. The number of the papers gradually grew year by year, especially in the recent 10 years. 26880 researchers from 113countries/regions were involved in the research. With 3786 paper published, the United States topped the ranking list for publication quantity, on which Japan was the only Asian country that made top 10 and China ranked 15 th. Most of the top 20 prolific authors were from developed countries in Europe and America, and Italian scholar MANNUCCI PM led others with 159 papers. A total of 5418 research institutions, mainly institutions of senior learning and institutions of scientific research, participated in haemophilia research. 10 of the 20 most productive research institutions were located in the United States; 16 of the most cited 20 papers were written by American scholars, with the highest citation frequency up to 765. 1591 journals had published papers about haemophilias, and Haemophilia led others with 1/5 of all the published papers about haemophilias and a total of 27973 citations. 75% of the top 20 journals were published in the US and Britain, and English was the main language used by the researchers in paper writing. The research involved 141 subjects, among which hematology was the main one while rehabilitation science and nursing science were minor ones. 1839 papers were funded by 806 funding agencies, mainly governmental foundations and non-governmental foundations.2. Bibliometrics analysis of haemophilia papers from domesticFrom 1965 to 2014,1836 papers about haemophilia were included in CNKI and Wanfang Data. The research involved 39 subjects. The three authors with the most papers published were Wang Hongli and Wang Xuefeng, both from Ruijin Hospital of Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine, and Xue Jinglun, from Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University.Five of the top 20 most cited papers were made by Wang Hongli’s research team.The papers published by Xue Jinglun’s team were most cited. The top 20 research institutions were mostly from haemophilia treatment centers. 40 domestic periodicals published haemophilia research, and International Journal of Blood Transfusion and Hematology was the leader in terms of publication quantity. 9.15% of the papers were funded by foundations, mainly national and provincial ones.3. Bibliometrics analysis of haemophilia nursing papers from domestic and foreignAccording to metric analysis of domestic and foreign papers, the subject of haemophilia nursing had poorer development than other subjects. Wo S contained only85 papers collected from 26 countries, China not included. Haemophilia was the main journal for the paper publishing. 40 researchers from 207 research institutions participated in the research of haemophilia nursing. The US, Britain and Canada were the main force in the research. The research on nursing was discontinuous with out stable core author groups. The research involved 26 subjects; the research contents were mainly disease nursing, nursing education and community nursing; transregional,interdisciplinary cooperation was deficient in the research.34 funding projects,most from business foundations and 4 from government foundations, supported 51.515% of the research of haemophilia nursing.4. Bibliometrics analysis of haemophilia nursing papers from domesticChina’s research of haemophilia nursing had a late start, but it has been making rapid development in the recent 10 years. 422 researchers published 207 papers in total, 31.407%by sole authors. Trans-regional and interdisciplinary integration was deficient. Meanwhile,research developments were uneven: most researchers and institutions were from provincial haemophilia treatment centers, and six institutions of Haemophilia Treatment Centers Collaborative Network of China were the main research force. Since 2003, only5.314% of the papers have been funded, primarily by provincial foundations. Nursing research has been published on 43 journals, 44.186% of which are nursing journals.Conclusions:1. There are obvious advantages in haemophilia research in developing countriesThe US, Britain, Italy, Germany and France had advantages, and except Japan,Asian countries had no advantages. Compared with the benchmark countries, China has the following shortcomings in haemophilia research.2. Haemophilia research and cooperation is risingHaemophilia research average growth rates in decade is 89.2%.United States has been the biggest contributor in collaborative research. Lack of effective cooperation among Asian countries. China little trans-regional cooperation, and the main partner countries for the United States, Canada and France.3. Haemophilia covers a wide range of research areas, but there are big imbalances in the discipline distributionThe research involved 141 subjects, among which hematology was the main one while rehabilitation science and nursing science were minor ones.4. Haemophilia nursing had poorer development than other subjectsThe research of specialized autoimmune-disease nursing has not been recognized by foreign counterparts, and a mature nursing mode has yet to be formed.Suggestions:1.
